Editors Wanted
Hello everyone! As I mentioned a few weeks back, I'm considering posting a couple of threads to other sites, like AO3. Three threads are likely to get the nod so far, and I have set up a Gdocs for two of them currently for the purposes of editing.

Hi everyone, I have to be up really, really early tomorrow morning. I know some of you haven't voted yet, so won't close off voting until I get the chance to sort things out. Still, I thought it would be a good idea to get the discussion rolling for at least one of the threads that is a shoe in to win.

Story: JAV Kasumi
Within the Tendo kitchen, a perfectly ordinary scene was playing out. Two housewives, standing side by side. Chopping vegetables, engaging in idle local gossip, one of them trying not to think about the fact that they had fucked the other's husband for a porn movie.
A porn movie that had been edited and was ready for distribution. After several less fun and exciting scenes involving things like “plot”, as thin as they were. Because that's how porn works, you see. Nobody watches them for the 'plot', no English major is writing an essay on the intricate themes and ideas of "Legend of Sexda: Cock to the Past". There's not someone nodding their head and appreciating the dry wit of "Sex on a Plane". They're here for the smut, goddammit, so get to the part with the nudity and the fucking already! On that basis, it only makes sense they don't put the effort in...
Anyway, Kasumi had gone off on that tangent internally because she was trying very, very hard to not think about it. She got on quite well with Nodoka. Heck, Nodoka was probably how people saw her in two decades hence.
It didn't help that Genma had said Nodoka already knew about his job on the side. That might be true. Probably was. It was probably hard to lie to her about where he got his income from. Nodoka was an astute woman. But it was quite something else if it was someone that Nodoka knew rather than a faceless coworker. How would she take it? No, that was the wrong way to think about it. The situation would turn awkward. Dreadfully, crushingly awkward. The tension in the air would be outright ludicrous, and it was definitely something Kasumi didn't want to deal with.
"Are you seeing anyone right now?" Nodoka asked out of nowhere in the middle of their conversation. Hah. How strange. It was almost as though she'd timed slicing through that carrot with the end of her sentence.
"Ah, no not at the moment," Kasumi replied. "Most men bore me, unless they're a little older. Why do you ask?"
As if she couldn't tell. That question was only ever asked when the intention was to set them up with someone they knew. They were testing the water to see if it was safe. If that was the case then Kasumi already had her answer - no, not looking right now.
"Older, you say?" Nodoka asked. "How much older?" Still continuing to test the water.
"Perhaps five to ten years - but I'm really not looking at the moment."
"Ah," Nodoka sighed. "That's a shame. It looked like you were enjoying yourself in 'Wild Housewife Done Dirty'."
Kasumi froze up. Her eyes drifted across to the side of the room where an innocuous little bundle lay. That was the sword that Mrs Saotome carried around because her husband had made a stupid, dumb promise to her that he would raise their son to be a man among men on pain of seppuku.
Then about fifteen years later he gets that son cursed to fall into the spring of drowned girl and that promise suddenly becomes an even worse seeming idea than it already was.
Needless to say, but a woman who would carry around a sword in case they had to use it for their husband and son's ritualistic suicide is not the kind of person you want to find out knows you starred in a porno with their husband. Regardless of whether she knows about the job or not.
"I don't know what you're talking about..." Kasumi tried to play the fool, if only to buy for time. But Nodoka stepped closer.
"Quite talented for a rookie. You have the right look, the right facial expressions, and you seemed to enjoy it quite a bit," Nodoka said, putting down the knife and then reaching up to Kasumi's shoulder. She tried to brush it off, but the wife of a martial artist is a little bit faster than you'd think. "Your enjoyment is important as well, the audience tends to like that. "D-Delightful?" Kasumi stammered out. Oh dear. Oh dear, now Nodoka was leaning her against the counter, coming in close with a wry smile on her face.

And then, as if the situation couldn't get any worse, Nabiki strolled into the kitchen. Nabiki. The girl who blackmailed people out of a matter of habit. How much of the conversation had she overheard? Oh dear! Her stress levels couldn't possibly be healthy!
"What do you think, Nabiki?" Nodoka asked. "I'm offering Kasumi the chance to learn from a more experienced woman."
"Sounds like a good idea to me," Nabiki answered, grabbing a glass and filling it with water. "I'm sure that big sis will learn it quickly, whatever it is. Gotta go!"
Ah, based on the slightly distant 'nihao' Shampoo was probably paying them a visit, meaning that she was enacting yet another zany scheme to try and -
"You know, that Shampoo girl should give up on my son and join your career path, she'd make mint," Nodoka said. "Oh well, one can hardly blame her. My son is extremely manly, even when he's a girl." Then suddenly Nodoka's face was inches from hers. "Don't you think so, Kasumi?"
"I - I - " Kasumi stammered, feeling herself turning bright red.
"And of course, you're a little flat footed that Nabiki didn't even notice this pose we're in," Nodoka continued, somehow being even closer without direct contact. Her breath was tickling Kasumi's lips. "That's because we're surrounded by so much weirdness, something like this is practically normal. Why, earlier on I saw Akane training in the hall."
"That's not such a strange thing," Kasumi said.
"She was juggling bananas, and using them to slap a training dummy. Or my son, who was apparently enjoying himself. It must be an esoteric opponent, Genma always loved training to fight one of those. Would you like me to train you, now?"
"Ah, yes! How encouraging!" Soun said, walking by the kitchen. "My little girl is mostly self taught, to have her master her cooking from Genma's wife - ah! It fills my heart with joy!"
Her father was thinking of the wrong kind of cooking entirely. Wandering off while laughing, apparently happy to 'leave the women to it'. Oh. Oh dear! This was quite troublesome...

So, that was not a fun week for me. I had Internet connection issues all week long which severely slowed down my ability to write, and as a consequence of that only got about half of what I wanted done.
Owing to this, I've decided that the best way to catch up is to miss a week on voting - though I should be okay to double up on winners to make up for this. Really sorry if you were worried while I was suffering downtime.
