Discussion: Akane's Titnosis + Concubine Factory + Sleeping With the Enemy
It's our first triple discussion for the week, and they're all quite interesting threads in their own way. Let's talk about them a little, shall we?
Voting Thread: 30th November (And a new rule)
It finally happened. I didn't believe it would happen until closer to the end of the year, but here it is. A thread finally hit 50 votes before it won and was reset to 0.
Damn. Guess I'm doing three threads this week, and it's time to announce another rule change about a month before anticipated.
You see, I was always aware that the vote totals were always climbing higher, higher and higher still. It made me feel sad for threads that were never gonna get the vote. So I set 50 as a cap. As soon as a thread hits its fiftieth vote, I bold it and set it to 0 then start counting again. What this means is that, if a thread would normally have 51 votes at the end of the week I subtract 50 and set its total to 1 for the following week, while leaving its "tiebreaker" value exactly where it was. I will then endeavor to update that thread within the next two weeks at most.
It is my belief and hope that this will remove points from the system to a sufficient degree that we don't get the ridiculous escalation to the point where it takes a thread far, far too long to update after winning a given week. This will also probably alter your voting strategies a little as well, which is why I decided to not announce this rule as soon as I decided upon it.
