In a rather rare position today, NTR 1/2 has progressed a fair amount since I last contributed to it. How interesting!

A pair of very interesting threads updating today. Very interesting ideas indeed.

Voting: Open Until 5th January

You know, I've been promising for a while now to change the rules to allow threads to rise up to the top a little bit quicker. I figure it's about time. As of this week, I will update two threads under modified rules. A new year seems like a good time to implement these changes.

Firstly, the one with the most standard votes will receive an update, then have its value reset to 0. In the event of a tie, the tiebreaker score will determine which of those with tied points gets the update.

Secondly, after doing the first one the thread with the most tiebreaker points receives an update. The tie in this instance being broken by how many votes it got. In this instance, the tiebreaker points (and not the vote total) will be reset to 0.

For example: Based on the way the table starts out and assuming no further votes over the course of the week, the first winner would be Love Pendant Usagi and the second would be Sentai Hina. I think this should help get your favourite threads updated a little bit faster, right?

Keeping this short so that the updates keep coming. I think the options may convince others to push it forward, probably. I'll try to do Rosario before Christmas, but we'll see how that turns out.

Since I didn't specify Kallen's, I think either Suzaku or Nina would be the best next choices. I kinda think it might be cute to have Shirley give Lelouch's present. Though I'm not certain what anyone else is getting anyone at this point.

Discussion Sexy Secret Santa

I've been considering this, and I think a poll for this is probably not that great an idea. I essentially shut myself out of continuing from a pretty solid episode continuation in lieu of following the poll, and I'd rather not do that again.

So instead, I'd like to hear suggestions for where you think the story could go from here. No deadline. If I like the ideas, particularly for gifts, then I will consider them and try to write up an episode. If anyone makes a substantial contribution to any of these, then I'll try to write a follow up as quickly as I can.

I may even - time permitting - contribute to the UY one that Drake started. We'll see how I feel about that in the coming days.

I will implement the new voting rules once I've gotten around to writing the Love Hina Tainted Cube episode to put a close on that for the time being. Until then, just a single episode a week. Gotta give myself the time to get it done.

Tainted Cube: On Hiatus

So, I've decided that it might be a good idea to bring Tainted Cube to a close for the time being. It's not that I dislike writing it, far from it actually. It's a lot of fun. It's just that it's such a long thing to write up, and since I'm taking more hours at work these days I really can't spend the time on it that it needs.

However: I am perfectly able to do much shorter thread updates. To that effect, I'm considering making an alteration to the voting rules for subsequent weeks. Namely, update two threads, maybe three based on your votes. I'm considering the following rules as possibilities.

First thread picked for a week would always be picked by the same rules as before. Highest vote count, then tiebreaker if necessary.

Another thread could be picked based on switching the purpose of the points allocated, totals of both points, or based on votes given for that particular week.

This would result in getting around to threads much faster in future regardless of the method picked. I do apologise if you've been enjoying Tainted Cube and would like to see its settings develop more, but at the moment... It's just too much for me to work on. If you would like to expand them yourself I have absolutely no objections. I may return to it at some point, but the time simply isn't right.

Some point in the next few weeks I will write out the Love Hina episode. The Ranma 1/2 episode is very nearly done and only really needs a brief fight sequence to finish it off. Thank you for your time and patience.

I'm sure you've all noticed by now that the Tainted Cube poll is very obviously not working the way it's supposed to. I haven't been able to find anything that mentions what the problem could be. For some reason it resets to Rosario + Vampire at one vote, and leaves it that way. I do not know why it does this.

I have deleted that poll and added a new one. However, this is clearly insufficient. Therefore to make sure all votes are counted, please vote in this thread. I am looking into alternatives.

I'm considering the possibility of having the "story" and "discussion" links be drop down menus to the various series, if I can work out how to make that work. Also, Sirocco appears to be having trouble posting through livejournal. I think it should be possible for him to post non-anonomously without needing livejournal, but if the problem is on the blog's end I don't know what it is. Help for either of us would be greatly appreciated.

Story: Tainted Cube: Succubus And Changes

So here it is, a week late but fully formed and ready for consumption. The ending was inspired - structurally - by a movie that damn near everyone I ever hear talks about it loves, see if you can guess which one. It was on television while I was leaving the house one day, and were it not for the fact I was meeting friends I'd have sat down to watch it there and then.

If anyone isn't happy with the direction this takes, or thinks that things could be improved... Please, tell me! It's the only way I'll improve!

Beware: I LIVE! Operation Catch Up And Make Up Begins!

And so, my Internet has returned! God, what a week and a half that was. But I think I'm just about caught up on all the stuff I'd missed out on recently, save of course my own work.

One Week Later... Still No Internet

I'd like to start off by saying that as frustrated as some of you may very well be in waiting for me to get back online - and I wouldn't blame you for that, the Internet breeds impatience by its very nature - I am in point of fact ten times more annoyed, more frustrated and more impatient than all of you put together. Quite easily. It's been a weeks since Tuesday, when my Internet went down. I immediately identified the likely culprit as the router, which we got about six years back now, but called up our ISP to check with them. They insisted it was likely the ADSL filter, which we replaced and still had trouble with. Then they said it was the line, and we had to wait a few more days until they could send us an engineer who would deal with the problem. He arrived on Monday.

And then he told me that the problem was... the router! Who could've fucking guessed! Now I had to order in a new one, which cost money because the old one was out of warranty, and it would take up to five working days for it to get here! Fucking wonderful! Thanks a whole fucking lot! If they'd just let us order in a new router in the first fucking place instead of giving us this runaround, I'd probably be back online by fucking now instead of having to ask a relative if I can use theirs to check up on stuff.

Well. As angry as I am about this, as completely bloody furious as the whole situation makes me... It also makes me feel a bit on the guilty side. Leaving you all hanging, waiting for another post. Well, here's the update. And I'm also gonna tell you this, make you all a promise that I fully intend to keep.

I am going to make up for this week and a half. Oh, sure, I've been writing a few things here and there while offline. Nothing wrong with my computer at all. I'll post it all when I'm back on at home. But that's not nearly enough for me. When I get back on, I promise you I will write. And write. And fucking write. Because I love you guys. I do. I love you for motivating me. Love you for inspiring me. Love you for pushing me on to do what I love doing more than anything else. Entertaining people. And I swear to all of you once again that I will make up for lost time. Not through Tainted Cube, for the thought of doing more than one of that in a week gives me the chills. Seriously, usually comes out at almost twenty pages, and sometimes more. Can't bring myself to do that twice in a week, especially now I'm employed! But I will find another way. Somehow. You'll see when I'm back. Plans are already forming. Plans are already just about there...

Once again, this post has been edited now that my home Internet is working at full capacity. Let's talk about Sexy Akane and where it might go.

Voting Thread: Open Until the 17th February

You may have noticed that I changed the date to the 17th. There is a good reason for that. See, even though I did everything in my power to get online sooner I still feel guilty about being offline for a week and a half. To that end, I'm extending this week's voting for another week as part of Operation Catch Up, Make Up. What is that, you say? Well, to begin with I'm doing something a little extra special with this week's voting thread. Recall how I did a sort of holiday special, where I did two episodes instead of one? The top two threads being written up and treated as the winners? Well, I'm doing that again... Except in this case, it's the top three. Yep. You're getting to pick three threads for me to write, and you got until the 17th to make your choices. To make things a little fairer, for the two of you who have already voted in this thread, I shall give everyone permission to make two sets of votes for this thread with each set obeying the same rules as usual.
 
So, DarkHereticMadman and Anon Writer? You can make another selection of five different threads if you would like to do so, and everyone else can make two selections. For this thread only. Tainted Cube Poll Closed: New One Will Begin Whenever I Get My Goddamn Internet Back

My Goddamned Internet is back, and so we can begin a new poll. Let's get this done, shall we?

Lumitiel's Internet is down! Emergency Post

So, on tuesday my Internet went down. I'm currently posting from someone else's house while checking emails and stuff. This ultimately means that while I can write offline and probably post later, I don't know when I can post anything. This inevitably means that starting up the new Tainted Cube and regular voting posts will almost certainly be late this week. I am, after all, entirely in the hands of my ISP, and that's never a comfortable place to rest when Internet is down.

I'm going to change comment posting from moderated to not moderated. Comments here are usually on point, in fact I've never seen one that's not... So I don't see any reason not to for now. In the highly unlikely event that comments come through which are not appropriate, it'll go back on when my Internet starts up again.

I may well try to schedule some new posts in advance, but if they go up they shouldn't be taken as signs that I'm back online regularly. When I am, I'll let you all know for certain.

Sorry for the inconvenience, but there's really nothing more I can do but sit and wait for the ISP to resolve the issue.
