I think ANDFR is the thread that wins the most frequently at this point. Let's talk a little about where it could go from there. Or more specifically, from here.
This is probably right around about where we get away from the all encompassing harem for Ranma thing that the thread seems to be going with. Seriously guys, I've written that before and it gets so boring so quickly. So on the one hand, this update will probably involve taking a sharp turn away from that direction.
However, I also kind of want to see Happosai spreading the spell around other locations as well, to create a little more depth and breadth. To that end, part of this update will probably entail a fatesplit regarding where he visits. Now, I know that the most popular options will probably wind up being Sailor Moon or Love Hina, but why don't we try somewhere else for once? I'll certainly write those if you would like, but what about a different series to mix things up a little bit? ... No, not Urusei Yatsura either.
Taking suggestions for either.

ReplyDeleteProbably nip the bud on the effect of the photos on the other viewers. Maybe over time the obsession dissipates if they don't see the photos? Also the photos don't have a strong impact on those who are close to the subject.
Perhaps when Shampoo returns to the Nekohaten, her explanation to Cologne leads Shampoo to doing some exercises to clear her head or something. Cologne may recognize something is wrong.
Kodachi shows up at Furinkan looking for Ranma, but gets drained by Ms. Hinako. The photos on Kodachi may or may not be seen by the students, causing a different type of mayhem.
The one thing I do wish for the future (not here, because it doesn't fit) is Ryoga running into girl-Ranma. Oh course, it may not happen at all once Ranma goes on to try to find how to undo whatever happened to him.
As for the Happosai's quest, well, first, need to define what he wants to cast on woman (alter their figures, change their dressing habits, give them a compulsion to support Happosai, etc). And if he actually followed directions this time.
As for what other series to draw in... hmmm... what other series are you familiar with?
If we're looking at series which make sense and are Happosai accessible? That's a bit trickier than it should be if I'm honest. Now that I'm actually thinking about it, there's not quite as many as there should be. Especially for female characters that can be used for the intended purpose.
ReplyDeleteWell, which series would you like to see me use, then? Even if I'm not familiar with it per se, I'm a pretty quick study on characterisation. Go ahead, make your suggestions. The only thing is, it has to be set around Tokyo in a modernish setting, and have at least one appropriate female character for our purposes.
Well, TLR pretty much occupies the low rung of the ladder among series for which you’ve started and/or contributed to threads (in terms of number of episodes you’ve done, I mean), so that might be worth including. And it’s certainly appropriate for Happosai.
DeleteThinking back to other series I discussed in the “Make Your Own Tainted Cub/Gestalt” thread, TWGOK and Kämpfer could also be fun.
As for being a quick study, I know you are…though is it really worth doing if it’s simply a series you read up on and with which you don’t have any real engagement? I mean, I could suggest several dozen series that fit your criteria and for which I would surely enjoy your take, but if you don’t know them and would have to do research, I’d basically be saying, “Here’s some more work to do, sucker.”
