The Queen of the Succubi did so enjoy a good maniacal cackle. It really took the edge off after receiving bad news, worked wonders on focusing the mind on the task of inevitable and overly complicated vengeance. Oh, it had to be too complicated to be believed by the mortal mind, otherwise what was the point? So boring just going for the direct approach. So thoroughly pedestrian, no, worse than that, so very human. Ew!
Now, she already had a couple of dozen plans under the old concealed wing to get the job done. One did not cling so long and so thoroughly to the succubus throne without a quick wit and a good sense for strategy. Well, more like a flair for the dramatic balanced versus effective strategy, but that was hardly the point.
Until today she had been content to ignore the Sailor Scouts. Why pay them any bother? Buncha do-gooders that aimed for the kind of evil that wanted to destroy or enslave the world. Or, as the Succubus Queen liked to think of them, a bunch of complete tools thinking above their station. Destroy the world? That was where all the fun stuff was? Rule it? But that would mean administration, which in turn meant no time for fun, which meant you might as well blow the damned thing up.
So… She didn’t really give a damn about them, largely because they were never likely to come knocking on her door any time in the near future. Hell. She kinda hoped they won out. Wiped out the other demons, then she pretends to turn nice, keeps on doing what she’s doing and pretends to be doing it in the name of love and goodness instead of malevolent lust. Not like there was much of a difference where she was sitting. It had always seemed to her that a fight with the Sailor Scouts was like teaching a bear how to use a shotgun, leaving one in its possession then pelting it with rotten tomatoes. There was nothing to gain and absolutely everything to lose.
But then there was this complete nonsense. For the first time that she could remember, a being had come into existence that could challenge her for the throne. Given enough time to master her powers, Sailor Moon could easily unseat her. A combination of Succubi powers with those offered by her Sailor form… This was a beast that needed training while it was still a pup.
Which led back to the plan. A direct confrontation was out. Right out. Look at the others, sending in their generals and top monsters to confront and corner the do-gooders and in the process losing resources or causing their enemies to become more and more powerful/confident/work better as a team/all of the above.
Of course, the Queen of Succubi certainly had her very own four generals. Morrigan the warrior, Yuki-Onna the lady of ice and snow, Lamia the charming snake and Siren whose voice could charm the wind itself into bowing at her feet. That wasn’t even a metaphor. The Queen had seen her do that one time on a dare. Four beautiful temptresses, completely and utterly devoted to their Queen and until today the only Succubi that came anywhere near her level of power.
Like hell she was sending them out to be burned by the Sailor Scouts. Or their own underlings for that matter. It is to laugh, and so the Queen did. Hahaha, yes, just like that. Instead let us go for something a little more dramatic and daring and yet, at the same time, practical. It would almost certainly work. Without question. And! And at the same time! It would (assuming success) bring her some new recruits. Even if it failed she already had a few failsafes in mind…
“Forgive me, my Queen,” her naked servant said. “What, pray tell, is it that you intend to do?”
She flicked her gaze back towards him and grinned in a manner that was both completely malevolent and totally hot. “Well. Is it not obvious?” she asked. “We have seen that it is possible for an accident to have some rather interesting effects on those it should not have. Therefore, it should be possible to replicate that same accident under controlled circumstances.”
A wave of her hand, and four images appeared around her. One showing what appeared to be a handsome man with blonde short hair, until one looked really rather ridiculously close and was still absolutely certain it was a man you were looking at. Another showed a woman with flowing green hair lifting a fiddle and playing it as though it was second nature. The next showed a stern figure with a vigilant stare in her eyes, though if one stared deeply enough into them there would also be a trace of loneliness and compassion aching to be set free. As for the last, there was a young girl with a tremendous pressure upon her shoulders and the grim spectre of death appearing to linger after her however she moved.
“If the Inners are temporarily beyond our reach,” the Queen of the Succubi said. “Then we corrupt the Outers. Now that we’ve seen how it works, we can control the process. Corrupt them. Render them loyal to my whims. And then, once they succumb, we set them upon the Inners and teach them all a valuable lesson. All nine of them will be kissing my feet by the time this is through!”
“A fine plan as always, my Queen!” the servant declared rather redundantly. Of course he’d think that. He had no capacity to think otherwise. “Though the question does persist: How do you intend to procure the Outers?”
- As they sleep that night, the Outers are trapped in a peculiar dreamscape.
- The Four Generals approach each of the Outers in turn and work their magic.
- She has a different plan entirely.
- Skipping back to the newly formed Sailor Succubi and their inaugural orgy.
- The next day, Usagi awakens to her first day as a succubus superhero!
- Something else
