The relationship between Ranma and Akane could be described elegantly as paradoxical. Hell, paradoxical isn’t quite the right word for it. Their relationship was the Gordian knot of the modern age, an emotional labyrinth that had a string-eating Minotaur wandering the corridors. So. Let’s try to run through it on the most basic possible level.
They loved each other. To bits. That part seems simple. They both had very occasional, fleeting erotic thoughts about one another. They were both kinda comfortable with the thought of spending the rest of their lives with the other. Sounds ideal. Sounds better than ideal! Sounds pretty brilliant as far as these things go.
Yet it isn’t. Because they both think the other hates them, or at best merely tolerates their existence. So, both of them being rather proud people, neither of them admits how they feel first because neither of them wants to be rejected wholesale by the person they like/love/lust for. Nobody wants that. Unrequited love sucks, and so does not knowing. But it’s like Schrödinger’s cat. You won’t know if it’s alive or not until the box is opened, therefore it is both at once. It’s like a misinterpretation of game theory, where they’ve mistaken the only way to lose for the only way to win.
But there was an added wrinkle (or ten) as well. Namely. They kinda did hate each other. They argue fairly often as any pair of particularly proud people tend to, they both have numerous very interested and slightly mad suitors pursuing them, they have their own little personality quirks that lend to easy misunderstandings. Couple that with a dash of that natural pride, and you get more fuel for future arguments. So, they were in a situation where emotionally they can’t stand each other but also enjoy each other’s company, but couldn’t get away from each other anyway because their fathers were forcing the issue and honestly neither of them was particularly looking for a relationship anyway but if they were going to enter a relationship with anyone it would probably be with that particular person -
Keep in mind. This is the simple version of their relationship. It’s like one of those magic eye puzzles, except imagine that it was made up of other smaller magic eye puzzles. The more you stare, the more confused you get. So. Imagine how confused they were!
In a way it was perfect fodder for the NTR ring. Particularly after their earlier encounter with Kuno, who lusted after them both (well, Ranma’s girl form rather than his boy form but the point should be pretty clear). It could use those paradoxical feelings against them so very, very well.
Ranma, for example, was trying very hard to think about something other than how he didn’t measure up to Kuno. That body. That cock! He was also trying not to think about what it would be like if Akane decided to ditch him for the kendoist. Giving herself to him. Sucking his giant, beautiful dick all through the night…
But that was the funny thing. He was also trying not to think about what it would be like if his girl form had a ride. If he couldn’t satisfy Akane as a man, he could at least satisfy Kuno as a woman. Right? The thoughts were treacherous, but with each one he cast out Ranma was finding the number of things he could safely think about dwindling moment by moment. It wasn’t like him to just, you know, give up without a fight. Right? Maybe he would be able to satisfy Akane better than Kuno ever could!
Meanwhile Akane was trying very hard not to think about other certain things that flew along similar lines. She had never seriously considered Kuno for dating material until today. Never dreamed she would consider him handsome or sexy, or wonder what it would look like if he and Ranma… Or he and Akane herself… Oh, goodness, whatever was she thinking about? She wasn’t a pervert! Not the slightest bit of it!
Akane’s fist flew inches over Ranma’s head, one of her feet caught up with the other and the next thing either of them knew they had landed in a great big heap on the training room floor. A veritable tangle of limbs, irritation and sexual tension.
“Clumsier than usual today, I see,” Ranma groused as he pulled himself out of the tangle. Not made any easier by Akane’s flailing about.
“Me clumsy?” Akane retaliated, pulling herself out of the tangle, and this certainly wasn’t being made any easier by Ranma’s incessant wiggling around. “You’re the one that tripped me up and didn’t get out of the way!”
The two of them successfully extracted themselves and glowered at one another. The urge was there. It always had been since the day they met. One up the other. Beat them. Be victorious, prove supremacy and demonstrate which of them really deserved to take charge of Anything Goes and its future!
“You’re not still upset about…” Ranma began.
“Upset about what?” Akane interrupted. “Flirting with Kuno to get information about him training your mother? Or maybe your mother taking such an active interest in our ‘sex life’! Ha! If only she knew you were about to embark on a sex life with her teacher right there in the park!”
Ranma snorted back a laugh. “Sure,” he said. “Because you were so much better. You were all over him, as if such an uncute tomboy could ever get someone’s attention when my girl side is around!”
The two of them resumed staring very intently at one another. Neither knowing, neither even suspecting that their thoughts and feelings were being spun around. The maze of their emotions was being masterfully mapped out. The paradoxes of their thoughts and feelings were being played off one another and the NTR Ring was taking great care to draw its blade upon the knot. And for its very next move -
- They decide that the only way they can convince Nodoka of anything is to actually have a sex life. So they have sex, and are left with the impression the other wasn’t as satisfied as they were.
- They decide to have a contest to prove which of them could seduce Kuno.
- Nodoka pays a visit, and leads one of them off to meet with Kuno.
- Nodoka pays a visit, and distracts one of them while Kuno seduces the other.
- Something else
Nice. Looks very promising.
