The relationship between Ran and Lum was a bit of an odd one, which made sense given how completely strange both girls were. Ran wanted revenge on Lum for a thousand tiny transgressions, while Lum still sort of considered her a friend. Given Ran’s mood swings it wasn’t exactly easy keeping friends with her, but Lum did her best.
Unfortunately, Lum’s best quite often made matters a little worse. She was a bit of a natural troublemaker, but hey, that came with the territory for an oni.
Case in point: She was genuinely concerned about Ran’s sudden illness. Some might have suspected it was part of some ploy or other to gain Lum’s trust, get her to drop her guard. It would have fit nicely with her behaviour since coming to Earth, but Lum didn’t really think of it that way at all. All she knew was that a friend was in danger, and so she had carried Ran off to her ship for analysis and treatment. Seemed pretty selfless (and it was), so what was the harm?
The harm came when Ran let out a whimper within the pod. A whimper that sounded like “No, stop!” The sound made Lum approach a little closer to see if anything was wrong, even though she knew intellectually that if something really was wrong then the machine would catch it. Call it an instinct born of concern.
Well, whatever it was had an effect Lum would not be able to see coming. She barely touched the pod in the slightest. Just a second, less than that and it was enough. A tiny spark. Call it irony if you like, call it fate. Maybe her naturally electric nature is what caused it in the first place. She didn’t even feel it, didn’t know anything unusual had happened. Instead, she turned her attention back towards the computer and casually instructed it to get her more details about energy type E4. Visual only.
But then something strange happened as the computer began to follow those instructions, flashing the requested information onscreen. She caught sight of a full-body mirror in the corner of the room, and more importantly happened to glimpse herself in it. Lum floated over and stared at her reflection, and a strange thought overtook her.
She was hot. Like, as in, really super hot.
Well. She knew that already; it wasn’t hard to figure out from the way people looked at her and talked with her. Yet somehow the fact seemed more important just now. It was like she was truly seeing it for the first time. In spite of everything, she simply couldn’t take her eyes off herself. Those curves. Those enticing curves she constantly put on display. Was this how it affected others? She whipped back her hair to get a better look and ran her tongue gently over her lips.
Positively delicious.

“Energy drain completed,” a mechanical voice declared, and Ran opened her eyes and let out the biggest of the biggest stretches she’d ever ever done. Oh goodness, but she certainly did feel drained all of a sudden! Why was she in the medical pod again? What did it mean by energy drain completed?
And why did Ran feel so thoroughly empty all of a sudden?
A movement in the corner of the room caught her attention. Huh? Wasn’t that Lum? What the hell was she - Was she posing for herself in front of that mirror?! Filled with renewed strength, Ran hopped out of bed and marched right up to the annoying (yet beautiful) oni, gripping her by the arm (so soft and smooth) ready to yell at her for being such a stupid floozy - Only to be caught completely off guard by the expression on her (pretty) face. It actually made Ran pause and back away a little bit.
“Hi there, Ran,” Lum said. “You’re all better now? That’s good. You’re too cute to leave as a sleeping beauty, tcha!”
Ran tried to summon her anger and forge it into meaningful words that would cut like a knife. A knife made of barbed wire that would wrap itself around Lum and wipe that stupid goofy grin off her (stunning) face once and for all. Instead what came out were a series of sputters and half words that were less coherent than television static.
So she backed away from the oni instead and caught a glimpse of something out of the corner of her eye. There were words on the computer monitor, and she scanned it briefly, dismissed it for a half second before her brain caught up with what she’d just read and then she wheeled off around to it at a speed that should have broken the sound barrier, staring at it with wide and fearful eyes.
“E4 energy,” she read, “is a normally rare and elusive form of energy known colloquially as ‘hentai force’. Exposure often results in increasingly sexual behaviour. If excess energy is drained from a subject, behaviour and thought patterns return to normal for a time, but will persistently return towards sexual matters after a period of normalcy. E4 exhibits traits indicating it can under certain conditions become a self perpetuating form of energy, similar to Spiral energy except not quite as dangerous, or at least not dangerous in the same manner.”
Ran swallowed, and swallowed very hard indeed. She was starting to remember now. She must have drained E4 energy out of Lum’s darling, then Lum must have returned her here… Suddenly the temperature in the room spiked way upwards, and Ran felt the overwhelming urge to remove her clothes. Right now.
“Oh no,” she whimpered. “I must still have E4 energy inside me… It’s just like it said on the screen! I have to fight it, I have to -”
A pair of arms draped around her and she felt an intoxicating figure press up against her back. All thoughts of resistance whimpered and died as Lum whispered in Ran’s ear about the fun and games they used to play, and to the oni’s apparent surprise and delight Ran turned her head and caught Lum in a kiss….
- Ran tries to drain the E4 from her body into Lum’s.
- Ran tries to suck the E4 from Lum’s body into her own.
- Ran just wants to make out with Lum.
- Meanwhile, Ataru has been bleeding E4 energy wherever he goes.
- Something else
Maybe tweak the entry to describe E4 as one of several self-increasing types of energy with Spiral Energy being another listed. Just a though anyway
ReplyDeleteAdded that in there. Heh. "Hentai Nemesis". Oh dear oh dear.
DeleteOnly thought of it after reading the mention of effects returning despite draining, but it certainly represents an interesting possibility for the thread going forward.
