Discussion: Demon's Test

I will warn now that I'm sick as a dog. Head pounding, limbs weak, stomach whispering tales of death and destruction, throat drier than a British newscaster's wit. Lumitiel is not a well man this weekend.

In spite of that I will soldier on and try to open discussion over what should be done with Demon's Test.

Last time on Demon's Test, Nalidiel started to play on Kasumi's good nature to get her pampering Ranma and the engagement between Ranma and Akane was formalised.

This time, I can see any of the options available on the latest episode being used. My instinct says to push the story forward with Ranma and Akane's first day of school, but any of the others could provide plenty of potential as well. What sort of power does Nalidiel have over the character's dreams, if anything at all? What sort of route will playing on Kasumi more lead down? What are the others up to at the moment?

  1. Hope you feel better, Lumitiel.

I'd say your instinct is good here. Keep focused on a couple of characters until they start breaking to Nalidiel's whims with only occassional swing bys of the others around them.

Though admittingly, if they're heading to school, perhaps some teasing of Nabiki might be wise and lead to a different twist on how the school experience starts. It certainly is an opportune moment for it.

    1. Pulling Nabiki more into the mix would admittedly be a nice change from the usual "first day at Furinkan" formula. Though playing with everyone a bit as they sleep always has potential. It's definitely not a necessity, however. So if things move on to the school day, I feel like that should work well.

  2. I've written out a little something on this thread, but I've hit a bit of a wall. I haven't changed nearly enough in my opinion from the canon events, at least so far as would influence the battle with Kuno.

I've had Nalidiel do his usual thing of whispering little thoughts and ideas into their heads, but I don't think that's quite enough.

However, I have had one interesting idea. Nalidiel is now focusing on Nabiki with the intention of making her extremely suggestible to his whispers. I just don't appear to have done all that much with the idea, and kept far too close to canon for my own taste. What alterations do you think should occur here?
