Story: Hentai Crystal

If there's anything in this world that Usagi Tsukino feared, it was her mother. Can you blame her? I mean, really? The woman's pretty scary when she's ticked off. Which was quite often given how much of a scatterbrain Usagi could be.

What's that? You think she'd be scared of eldritch horrors older than humanity, which have slept for untold aeons until some careless fool awakened them? A cosmic horror that could rend the Earth asunder, save that it needed the life energy of its inhabitants? No, no, no! You underestimated the raw horror that Ikuko Tsukino could cause!

The anticipation was dreadful. Her parents were being called in by the bad guys, and there was nothing she could do! Her powers weren't working, Mars was brainwashed and keeping a close eye on her, so anything she could try was cut off right away!

Then, the moment finally arrived. Her parents entered the room.

"Usagi, are you alright?" her mother said, rushing to hug her - but being held back by the phony policeman holding her here.

"She's fine, ma'am. We've been taking good care of her," he said. "Sadly, I regret to inform you that she and her friends have been engaged in dangerous vigilante activity. I'd say she's safer here in our interrogation booth than she's been for quite a while."

"Oh. You mean the part where she and her friends are obviously the Sailor Scouts?" her father asked. Uh? What? Huh?! "I'm sorry to disappoint you, officer, but she wasn't exactly subtle about it."

Wait, hold on. What was this? What was going on here?

"I mean, that cat of hers literally says 'meow'. They go around in colour coded clothing, and some of the excuses she makes when she has to go off to transform..." her mother shook her head and sighed wearily. "Honestly, Usagi. Do you know how hard it was covering up for you?"

Rei spoke up here, while Usagi was too busy boggling at her parents to properly digest any of this. "I thought the magic protected our identity."

"It did," her father said. "If it wasn't for the colour coding, we couldn't tell the difference, but - Come on, you made it far too obvious."

"We only didn't say anything because we figured there had to be a reason for it," her mother said. "Hiding it from your enemies, keep us safe through plausible deniability, that sort of thing."

"You... knew...?" Usagi sniffed, barely holding back the tears. "All this time, you knew, and you were supporting me?"

"Ma'am that could be taken as conspiracy to conceal a crime," the policeman said.

"Much like you're committing a conspiracy to throw her in jail?" her father said. "I can see what's happening here. You're not actually police. You're either pretending to be them, or being controlled by some monsters."

The policeman's demeanour changed, and the room felt a lot colder all of a sudden. "Quite the accusation you've got there," he said. "Hoo boy, that's a dangerous thing to say when you're sitting in our interrogation room. If what you're saying is true -"

"I believe it is," her mother said. "Incidentally, our lawyer is fully aware that we're here, and if she doesn't hear from us within the hour, she's to assume foul play."

"You seem to value using the law as a weapon," her father said. "That tells me there are things you can't do. Otherwise, you would have simply taken us in and used us to hurt our daughter right away. So? Why don't you tell us who you really are?"

Holy crap, where did this come from?! Were her parents always this cool? They were lame, weren't they? Her mother was a hardass, not a badass! Even Rei's jaw was hanging open at that display, and she was extremely obviously and blatantly brainwashed into obedience, so - What the hell?!

"Alright then," the policeman said, sitting back in his chair. "We really are the good guys, you know. We are Order."

"Tyrants, despots, etc." Go Mom! Drag him! "One can follow the rules and still cause harm, if one does so in an unfeeling way."

"Hrm. You say that, but we came here because we sensed the rise of a great enemy," the policeman continued. "An evil demon of lust and debauchery. We battled him for Centuries, before figuring out how to bind him away. Locked him up toot sweet in a book - but not before he'd all but crippled our resources, staining it with his licentious, sinful, hedonistic and corruptive forces."

"My parents used to think the same things about rock and roll," her mother said. "Some people of my generation think that of Dungeons and Dragons. Doesn't stop my husband from playing with his friends every Saturday."

"You play D&D...?" Usagi boggled. That really didn't fit the image of her dad, at all!

"Ahem! Tenth Level Bard in my current game," her father said. What?! She opened her mouth to ask a question, and he interrupted right away. "No, I've not flirted with any dragons." Aww!

"Well, it's plain to see the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, now does it, Miss Hino?"

Rei looked away. Whatever that comment meant, it was beyond Usagi.

"Ahem!" their attorney coughed. "As interesting as this all is, I advise telling my client's parents a bit more detail about the relationship between order and the being currently calling itself Libra. I think that would be the best way to convince them to cooperate."

Bobby nodded to that. More detail, huh? What more detail could they possibly bring up now? What could they say that would possibly change their mind?

"The two most primal forces at work in the universe are Chaos and Order," Bobby began. "Chaos, you've dealt with in the past, in some form or another. The enemies you've fought - Youma, Beryll, the Dark Kingdom, all a product of Chaos and its corrupting influence, determined to sow mayhem for its own sake."

"The Dark Force of the Galaxy Cauldron, which failed to become a Star," the attorney continued. "It has incarnated as beings determined to oppose the Light of Order throughout all of space-time. It seeks to gather its own power, for no other reason than having it."

"Meanwhile, Order developed as a countermeasure, specifically tailored to combat Chaos anywhere it attempted to rise," Bobby said. "Generally, we're not needed where Sailor Moon or her reincarnations are present - You tend to deal with those yourselves, but a long time ago Libra rose to power. Corrupting mortals, bending them to its will, transforming their bodies into twisted sexualised versions of themselves. A clear and blatant example of Chaos in its purest form."

"We attempted to impose rules to fight back his Chaos of Lust," the attorney said. "To break his control over those under his sway, and prevent him from spreading his debauchery and influence further still. Yet he was a tricky foe. He would delight in finding ways to subvert any rules way laid down and perverse them, twist them up and add them to his collection of corrupted things."

"Eventually though, we were able to corner him. Used our own spellcasters to bind him and his powers into a book," Bobby said. "We don't know how, exactly, he got free. Probably a pair of foolish perverts from the modern age, tricked into unleashing him."

"And then he set about corrupting us," Rei said. "Giving us powers in exchange for making us behave... inappropriately. Shamefully. In hindsight, it was disgusting how we were behaving! Mr and Mrs Tsukino, please! Order aren't the bad guys here! Libra is! You have to protect your daughter from his -"

"We'd like to hear Libra's side of the story first," her dad cut Rei off. "It's all well and good hearing one side of the story, but who knows what they've exaggerated?"

"I agree," her mother said. "And, I must say, based on what I've seen of your behaviour here, I'm not inclined to believe you're telling the whole truth, and will require further evidence."

Bobby and Attorney both sighed in unison, and gave each other a quick look over. Usagi didn't much care for that look. It probably meant something bad.

"Mr Tsukino, you really should be more careful where you park. Yesterday, you wound up staying thirty one minutes at a thirty minutes maximum parking spot."

"Really now?" her father scoffed. "You're only making my point for me. That's quite petty of you."

"Petty? No. The law is the law..." Bobby said. "I'm afraid that if your daughter doesn't see sense - well, we'll have no choice but to throw the book at the two of you for every offence under the sun. How many tickets do you think you can pay up on your salary?"

So this was their game, huh? Threaten her with her parents - and when that doesn't work, threaten her parents. These... These monsters claimed to be fighting Chaos, but didn't they see it? They were just as bad! It made Usagi clench her fists, and her teeth, and look at Rei, who was nervously fidgeting uncontrollably.

"It's for the best," she was saying to herself. "Just put up with this until Libra is gone... That's all we need to do. Once Libra is dealt with then we can -"

Suddenly, the door to the room was pushed open, and the room fell silent. Huh? What was this now?! Usagi's eyes boggled, as a sight she did not expect to see was right there. It was Ami! Dressed in a really nice dress suit, with a snug pencil skirt and a light blue blouse, and oh - Those glasses were definitely adding to her appeal!

"Ami Mizuno, you're under -" Bobby began, but Ami raised her finger in a warning.

"Hello there," Ami said. "Pardon me, but I believe that Usagi has the right to choose her own attorney? Usagi? Will you take me on as your legal assistance?"

"You bet your amazing ass you will!" Usagi thumped the desk enthusiastically. Oh, right her parents were in the room as well. "Ah... sorry! I got a little excited there, shouldn't have said ass..."
