Story: Double Trouble 1/2

Every morning since nearly the start of the year, Akane Tendo had to face the brutal onslaught of her school's most athletic boys, ever determined to date her. They rushed her as one, with the strongest staying back to fight her last, and then she demolished them. A flying kick here. A stiff uppercut there. It was a test of her skills as a martial artist, the most intense training she was getting recently but quite frankly given the high stakes it just wasn't worth it.

Little in her wildest dreams could she have imagined that she would wish her morning had started with that irksome standard. Never once in her life could she comprehend what situation might make her feel nostalgic for the days when she was rushed by a horde of horny, misinformed brutes thinking they could date her if only they could beat her in a fight.

"Tell us more!" a girl in her class begged. "Was it love at first sight?"

"Tell us more!" another came along. She licked her lips and there was a bit of a twinkle in her eye as she looked across the room towards Ranma. "Did he put up a fight?"

By the time this day was done she was going to murder whoever decided this year's stage play. <i>Grease</i>. Why did it have to be <i>Grease</i>?

"If you must know, our fathers arranged it," Akane sniffed. And another thing! What was Ranma thinking bringing that up out of nowhere like this? Look over there. The boys were practically worshipping the ground he walked on, and he was soaking it in like a sponge. That arrogant, cocky -

<i>"Oohhh, right there!" the other her moaned. She was naked, straddling the future Ranma's hips. Her right hand was clasped to the side of her head, while her left was steadying her body against his chest. His ripped chest that you could grate cheese on.</i>

"Oooh, her cheeks turned red when she looked at him!" one girl whispered. "It must be true love! So romantic!"

The girls all around her sighed in unison, and Akane was utterly lost for words. "It's not like that," she protested. "I'm just embarrassed he brought this whole thing up like that, the insensitive - guh! Would you all stop giving me the doe-eyed look? It's really freaky!"

"Oh, you say that's all it is, but that's not the kind of blush you had just now. You were thinking of a kiss, right?"

A kiss? A kiss?! "He's an immature brat, and we only met yesterday," Akane protested. Damn him! Now they were all getting the completely wrong idea stuck in their heads. Doesn't he realise this is how rumours get started? Find her a hole she could crawl into and a rock to dump on it, she'd live there from now on.

"Oh, really? You only met yesterday?" Sayuri asked, sounding innocent. But more like that sort of innocent that meant 'I am absolutely guilty as sin of something and would happily lead you down that same path given half the chance.' It was the way she was inspecting her nails, Akane decided. It came across like a deliberate attempt to avoid direct eye contact. "How strange, I had thought that your handsome, hunky and strong fiance was the reason you weren't accepting any dates."

"That was because none of the boys were worth my time," Akane protested. "I didn't even know about this until five minutes before he set foot in our house."

"Ah?" Yuka gasped. "Well, it's a little strange then. Isn't it? Why did he wind up engaged to you instead of your older sisters? That's the way things are normally done for something like this."

"Maybe he took a shine to you?" Sayuri suggested. "He did seem pretty protective of you this morning. I'd say he was about five seconds away from scooping you up in his arms -"

<i>Suddenly Ranma picked her up and threw her against a nearby wall. The future Akane responded by wrapping her arms around his head and pulling him into a deep, steamy kiss. Her legs wrapped around his waist, his hands were keeping her steady. Their bodies were coated with layers of sweat, but seemed to be glowing happily.</i>

"- And carrying you off into the sunset bridal style," Sayuri finished. "See? You're blushing again!"

She couldn't help it. Ever since she'd seen... <i>that</i> it was like her imagination had decided to step in and fill in a few blanks. Every so often she'd get this vision of the two of them. Together. There was the sound of laughter among the boys. Ranma looked across, seeming to notice her looking. The dork waved at her like nothing was wrong. Grk! Why couldn't he be more like his older self, that stupid, immature... Boy! His older self was much more charming. Much more considerate. Much more mature!

"So?" one of the girls asked. "Have you decided on a date yet?" Akane gave her a blank look. "For the wedding. Do you know when it will be yet?"

"I forbid it!"

Well then, that was another brand new experience to put in her diary. Relief at having Tatewaki Kuno barge into her life. Or rather, her classroom. Brandishing a real sword rather than a bokken - Where did he get that? Why was he allowed to have that in school? Homeroom was about to start and this maniac was carrying around a real steel sword? Did he always have that with him as well as his bokken?

"This marriage to Akane Tendo, I shall not permit!" Kuno declared, pointing his sharp blade towards Ranma's face. "Ranma Saotome, I know not what trickery you have indulged in to ensnare her so, but I shall not permit -"

"Starting to sound like a broken record," Ranma said, pushing the sword away by the flat side with his index finger, while behind him the boys that had been surrounding him suddenly took much greater interest in the back of the classroom. "Broken record. Broken record. Broken record. Broken record."

And then Ranma's desk became school desk one half. The boy himself had jumped clean over the blade and kicked Kuno square in the chest, sending her former primary tormentor flying back. He then landed on the flat of his feet, and gave Akane a cheeky wink.

"So cool..." Akane whispered.

No. Wait. That wasn't cool at all! There was nothing cool about this boy in the least. He was, in fact, distinctly <i>uncool</i> in every single way.

"Eeh!" Yuka squealed. "Akane's fiance is fighting the strongest boy in school to prove his devotion!"

"Former strongest boy!" Ranma corrected. He shifted into a battle stance as Kuno, snarling, rose to his feet and tossed the sword aside. "Yeah, that's right, you wanna prove a point you come at me without any weapons. If anyone is gonna be protecting Akane, it's gonna be me."

"Hmph, you're cocky!" Kuno spat. "Only one who has defeated the fair Akane in righteous combat shall have the right to date her. You clearly do not qualify, for you are a ruffian with no concept of righteous combat! Whereas I, Tatewaki Kuno, have been fully trained to use sword and fist alike! Come at me how you will, for I shall end -"

Incidentally, while the two boys had been talking Akane had stood up from her desk and calmly walked across towards the pair of them while they were carefully measuring each other up. By the time Kuno had reached that point in his - well, calling it a speech is demeaning to what a speech is, so let's call it "verbal diarrhea" - Akane had reached him, ducked inside his guard, and punched him in the stomach, forcing him to double over in quite a great deal of pain.

"I am not," Akane huffed, flipping back her long hair, "and will never be your fair Akane. Could someone take this pile of trash back to his classroom? His homeroom is about to start as well."

"Aw, man!" Ranma whined. "I was looking forward to putting that guy in his place." He turned around and folded his arms. "Honestly, my cute fiancee shouldn't get involved in fights like that anyway. I'm all you need to keep safe, and why is my danger sense still screaming at me?"

"Because it has more sense than you do!"

Pigtail: Grabbed. Back of his knee: Kicked. Akane yanked backwards so he was staring up at her probably rather angry (and upside down from his perspective) face from a kneeling position, head pulled back to look directly upwards and then she opened her mouth to say -

<i>"Right there! Oh, baby, right there, don't stop for anything!"

The future Akane was on her hands and knees while a powerful bronzed god had hold of her hips and was drilling her roughly from behind. Every thrust seemed to lift the smaller woman off the floor, and also made her yelp in the most pure form of delight Akane had ever heard. His pigtail bobbed and swayed in rhythm with their coupling. It felt like the only safe thing Akane could look at... Anything else, she might crawl over there and beg to join in.</i>

"In case you didn't notice," Akane spat. Oh gosh, she could feel the blushing again. "I can take care of myself. I'm a martial artist too! Got it, <b>darling</b>?" He nodded. "Can we please start homeroom now?" This time the teacher nodded. "Good!"

Akane stomped back to her seat and sat down, folding her arms angrily in front of herself. The frustrations of the day mounting ever higher onto her. How did it happen then? How did this... this immature, uncool boy become such a manly, mature stud? It didn't make sense. It couldn't make sense!

Unless... Unless she was going to have to force him to mature a little. Maybe that would work?

  1. Operation: Ranma's Maturity is a go! A moment of silence for Ranma the younger, for he is about to know suffering as never before.
  2. Back at the Tendo home, the future pair are discovered by someone.
  3. Ranma's day gets worse when his girl form encounters Kuno at lunch.
  4. Kuno recovers, and plots revenge. Against Ranma, as he's clearly spellbound Akane.
  5. Something else
