So. This was awkward. Of all the possible things she could have said to him upon arriving, this was not the way things went in her head. Still! No complaints on her end. She might need to make use of the shower in a little bit to wash off the sweat, but for now she wasn’t sure she could make her body move if her life depended on it. As for Lelouch himself, she could only imagine what was going through his mind. Was this all another game on his end? Was he playing along with her for his own unknown reasons? To her surprise, Shirley didn’t care. She’d gotten what she wanted, really. And it was eating her alive that they would have to wait for him to recover before they could do it again.
“To recap,” Lelouch said. Here it was. The moment she was dreading. “You take a few days off sick and have to return to your home to recover. Then out of the blue, you arrive back on campus and immediately drag me off to bed for an exhausting, enjoyable experience.” He stopped for a moment, which she punctuated by kissing him along the neck. “It almost felt like you somehow shut off the rational part of my brain. Now, I must ask how these things are connected. A cursory examination of your body indicates no external harm. You’re as energetic as ever, if not more so. The only factor that appears to be different is that you are a much more effective seductress than I might have imagined, especially given your displayed attitude to sexual matters prior to -”
“Careful, Lulu,” Shirley seductively growled. “All that dirty talk is making me want you again. Besides, if you want the answers badly enough… Then surely you could just make me. Right?”
Morning light streaked through the window and woke her up. In her dorm room. For a fleeting moment, Shirley thought she might have imagined the whole thing. Some trippy weird dream, but then she tried standing up and her body protested that yes, she had sex yesterday. Shirley Fenette was no longer a virgin, and while she was at it Lelouch had used his Geass on her! Ooh! That jerk! She had planned on telling him about it all, really. How could she not? That was kind of the point of her going there in the first place actually, and -
Never mind that just now. Sophie was still asleep, and frankly if she had been awake Shirley might well have just sent her back to sleep so she could actually concentrate a little bit. Right. So it was safe to assume that he’d done the same thing to her that he’d done to Kallen, asked some pointed questions that she was compelled to answer as honestly as she could. Which meant it was safe to assume he knew everything. In one sense that made things easier. In another, harder. How much detail had he extracted from her? What exactly was the Geass that he’d used on her? What would he do with the information?
Would they have sex again?
“No, no, no!” she shook her head, trying to get her thoughts back on track. Sure. Last night had been amazing, unexpected and - Well, his stamina wasn’t exactly great but he seemed to be taking greater care of her needs over his own and damn, but that boy was a fast learner! But she should not be thinking about that right now. Her thoughts should be going to things like, say, what they were going to do next.
There wasn’t much else for it. Shirley walked out of her room fully dressed and strode off towards the student council room with her mind all awhirl. Isn’t it amazing how much that little romp last night cleared her head out and got her thinking clearly again? Now at least she was able to ask a few questions - Not about what was coming next, but questions about the past.
Who sent the tapes? No way to know. How were they even made in the first place? Answer dependant on first question, but it does open up a huge variety of metaphysical questions that were really not going to be all that helpful to anyone. Another question, please? Ah! How had she managed to seduce him so effortlessly when the only time he’d ever demonstrated any kind of sexual urge in the series was when he was suicidally depressed and obviously trying to make Kallen give up on him?
That one brought her to a complete halt now that she was thinking about it. How did she seduce him like that? It wasn’t as if her Geass worked that way. She could send people to sleep, but that was it. Seduction was not her thing. Hell, those first five minutes once they’d reached his bedroom had been clumsy and awkward until Lelouch took charge of the situation and proceeded to blow her already addled mind.
But they shouldn’t have even wound up in the bedroom in the first place. So how on earth did she manage it? How had she been able to so trivially go from “friend zone” to “fuck me right now”?
“Shirley!” a familiar voice cried, and she barely had any time at all to whirl around and behold the student council president barrelling towards her at breakneck speed. Shirley tried, in vain, to duck out of the way but as athletic as she was, Milly’s glomping talent was untouchable. “So good to see you again! You feeling better, sweetie?”
“I’m fine,” Shirley replied. “Now let go! Please!”
“Hm, alright. If you insist,” Milly replied, backing away with a hand not so discreetly brushing against Shirley’s thigh. “Oh, just so you are aware. We’ve taken on a new council member. Kallen Stadtfeld. Such a shame you missed our celebration, but I’m sure you’ll like her. But be careful, because if Rivalz is right you might have a little competition for dear Lulu’s heart.”
Not likely if last night was any indication, but to keep up appearances… “I don’t know what you’re talking about!” Shirley harumphed. Kallen. Yes, that was going to be a complication. Technically, if she were being a devoted Britannian subject she should report Kallen for her double life. She should. But…
It was a funny thing. She’d never really seen the other side of things before, but the way that the cartoon had presented things made it quite abundantly clear that Britannia wasn’t the glorious Empire she’d always thought it was. They were the bad guys and presented that way throughout the entire show, with small exceptions here and there to keep the situation from becoming flat and unrealistic. Their behaviour to the Numbers was appalling, their disregard for life shocking and their tactics a dark mark against all of them. That was even before the Emperor’s own conspiracy made it even more clear!
Even without that her heart had already made up its mind. After seeing everything he had gone through, everything he would go through, she had already decided to be there for him. She had already killed Clovis for him… Which meant that the future could be changed and that it wasn’t set in stone. For now, she had to focus on figuring out a way to minimise the damage. Keep her father away from Narita, maybe even prevent the battle from happening at all… Prevent Euphemia from even thinking of the Special Administrative Zone… It all came down to Lelouch. It all came down to -
“Ah, here we are!” Milly said. “You’ve been quiet. Got a lot on your mind? Stressed about exams, or maybe daydreaming about your dashing prince?”
“If you’re talking about Lulu, I’m having trouble imagining him as any kind of prince,” Shirley said, and immediately regretted it. Stupid thing to say! What did it even mean? Well… At least Milly didn’t seem to take any notice of it. Now all she had to worry about was -
“Shirley? This is Kallen. Kallen, this is Shirley.”
- Was an inexplicable immediate attraction to her main romantic rival. As if her life wasn’t complicated enough as it was!
- Lelouch is thinking very carefully about what he’s just learned.
- Thus begins the most awkward student council meeting in recorded history.
- Kallen reflects on the past few days.
- C.C. considers the strange girl she met in Shinjuku, and discusses the issue with Marianne.
