The answer seemed rather obvious on idle consideration. He'd messed with Ranma. He'd messed with Akane. He'd messed with Nabiki. But Kasumi... Ah, but she was presently unspoiled. Pristine, pure, innocent. How could this possibly be left as it was? Now that he was getting the hang of this, maybe it was time to try and corrupt Kasumi Tendo. Draw out the perverted nature that she must surely be hiding underneath all the sweetness, selflessness and smiles!
The Jusenkyo conversation went much as Nalidiel remembered. Genma hurling Ranma into the koi pond, the two of them bickering while everyone came to the rapid realisation of how utterly stupid Genma Saotome was. It all fell in line pretty quickly, right up to the end...
"Your curse isn't that much of a problem," Soun said. "You and Akane will be able to marry any time you'd like!"
"Excuse me?!" Akane yelled. "Who said I'd marry him?"
"I think you did," Nabiki chuckled. "When you decided to tackle him while half naked."
"Akane, Ranma, such behaviour is inappropriate!" Kasumi admonished. "I understand you're attracted to one another, but please control your urges better in future. Most innappropriate."
The freshly afianced couple had the courtesy to blush while stammering out heated denials, but Nalidiel could see the truth on their surface thoughts. They were attracted to one another, at least physically if not emotionally. Which was fine by him. He was here to play up their lust, not play cupid.
"See, Tendo? The two of them are smitten!" Genma laughed, slapping his friend reassuringly on the back.
"Smitten?!" the two of them declared simultaneously.
"She attacked me!"
"Only because you were a mysterious naked boy in the bathroom! What was I supposed to think?!"
"Gee, I don't know! Maybe try asking first?"
"Maybe you should have told me about your curse!"
"Now, now, you two!" Kasumi admonished. "I'm sure that this is all a simple misunderstanding. Nobody was truly to blame, so kiss and make up."
The two scowled at one another for a moment, and Nalidiel took the opportunity to insert the same thought, the same two words into both of their heads: "Kiss her." He bounced the word between their heads, first one then the other, back and forth, almost laughing in delight as it seemed to take deeper and deeper root. Neither rose to the bait, though Akane did wet her lips moments before wincing and storming out of the room without another word. Unfortunate. If she'd stayed a little longer she might well have gone through with it. Ranma contented herself - still not changed back to a boy after the explanation - by watching Akane walk from the room and admiring her cute girlish figure.
"I'm sure you and Akane will get on fine," Genma said. "A spirited girl like that is exactly the sort you need!"
"Spirited isn't the word I'd use."
With Ranma apparently sulking, the rest of the family got on with their various pieces of business: Akane returned to her room to do homework. Nabiki returned to hers to continue reading a manga. Soun and Genma began the first of many games where the real goal was to be the bigger cheating bastard. Ranma worked out some tension in the training hall... And as for Kasumi... Nalidiel smirked, following the housekeeper as she went about making dinner.
This was going to be fun!
What an exciting day it had been! First, they had learned to expect guests. Then they learned that one of those guests would be marrying either Kasumi or her younger sisters. So much excitement before they had even arrived! And once they had... Oh, dear. This was such a messy situation. Kasumi stopped chopping vegetables for a moment and sighed. There wasn't much question in her mind that of the three of them, Akane was the best suited for Ranma. Even if not for the incident out in the corridor, she might have thought that.
He's such a handsome young boy, at least when he was male. Akane's lucky to have him, which was exactly why she should do everything she could to help along their relationship. Perhaps they should sleep in the same room? No, not until they were married. Until then, Kasumi resolved that there would be no more incidents like that in the hall. Not if she had anything to say about it! Then again, Akane needs to grow out of this boy hating phase and maybe a roll in the hay will help with that? Kasumi dropped the knife onto the counter and blinked. What a terrible thing to think! Besides which, Akane had always been rather vocal in her hatred of particularly immature boys. Not men. Silly little boys, as she would put it.
Then maybe it's time to get a boyfriend? Oh, but she couldn't possibly! Especially not now, not with two guests staying with them. Why, she'd need to spend even more time focusing on cooking, cleaning, washing clothes. They're taking advantage! Go have some fun!But this is fun!
For fuck's sake! You are far too good for your own good, you know that? If you keep up at this, you're gonna work your way to an early grave. And for what? They don't even say thank you, do they? They don't mind. They don't care! Kasumi'll take care of it! Kasumi doesn't mind cleaning up other people's mess! Is that the way you want to live your life? Fuck it! This isn't even about driving you insane with lust anymore, I'm doing this just to show you what you're missing out on!
... And, maybe, to satisfy my own wounded pride.
Well now, that was certainly an unusual direction for her thought process to go into. Kasumi shrugged. Probably nothing. Let's see. She'd finished with the vegetables, they were all sliced and diced... Next she had to...
You know, Ranma's had a really tough time of it. His father is an idiot, he turns into a girl with a splash of cold water. He could do with a bit of pampering.
Yes. Kasumi had to agree with that thought. The poor boy needed looking after. Not to mention it would help integrate him into the family. If he's going to marry Akane, it would be so much better if everyone got along. She tapped her lips thoughtfully. How should she go about this? <font color = brown> Remember the way Ranma's eyes lit up when Akane offered to be friends? Probably not had a hug in years, especially given that lout of a father...
