For a while now, Asuka had been teasing Hikari about her extremely blatant crush on wannabe tough guy Toji. It was such a cute couple, you know? The straight laced class president and the slightly doofy yet well meaning muscle. A romantic tale for the ages. Naturally, Asuka got as good as she gave - Hikari wasn't as smart as her, but hardly a slouch either. She might quip and call them beauty and the beast. Then Hikari would return the favour by comparing her to beast and Shinji to beauty.
As such, when they went inside the storage shed for a little fun, imagine their surprise to learn that someone had beaten them to it. Can you further imagine their surprise when they found they had been beaten here by no less than three students rather than two?
Yes, indeed, Hikari was acting as the meat in a boy sandwich. Sandwiched between Toji and - of all people - Kensuke. Really? Kensuke? The military nerd? The pervier of the boys around?
"What the hell?" Asuka squeaked, in a move quite unlike here. "Hikari! Really? Toji, I get, but Kensuke?!"
"Hrmm... You're hardly in a position to speak," Hikari winked. "I mean, Shinji and Rei? What are you three doing here?"
All the while, the two boys kept on peppering Hikari's neck and jawline with kisses. In eeries, unsettling unison. One would think that the three brains already connected to a gestalt would put one and one and one together and come up with a whole greater than the sum of its parts, but alas, they were just a little bit too clever for their own good.
"Oh, I get it!" Asuka said, upon noticing where Kensuke's hand was going. Along the front of Hikari's skirt. Stroking a bulge that was becoming more and more prominent that time went on. "So, you're a hard weapons nerd after all, Kensuke?"
"Asuka, let's go somewhere else," Shinji said. Now, he said that to keep up appearances. They'd already internally agreed that they should give their friends a little privacy to explore their new relationship. Nonetheless, up and walking out for no reason would raise a few eyebrows. Although, uh, Hikari did know about their gestalt status so maybe not? Either way, it was best to keep up the habit of making decisions using their outside voice. Otherwise they'll wind up doing it with their inside voice and that would definitely look suspicious to someone not in the know.
<i>"That wasn't what I was expecting to see today."</i>
<b>"At least they still had their clothes on."</b>
<u>"Not for long, the way they were going at it..."</u>
The three of them realised they'd started walking down the corridor being completely silent, and so Shinji suddenly said - "Hey do you ever wonder how they first invented ice cream? I mean, storing it was only possible when fridges and freezers were invented, right...?"
The two girls turned to give him a perfectly flat look. Really. That was what he was going to say aloud to allay suspicion? He was lucky he was cute... and part of a mutually horny collective of minds that had a very, very fucking strong physical attraction to one another.
A collective of minds that was looking to become a beast with three backs in the very near future. As such, they put the encounter with their friends out of their minds, despite how absolutely bloody obvious it was that something was amiss there. They had their own ends to get away.
<hr>
Ever since this whole thing had started, Ritsuko Akagi had not had nearly enough sleep as she'd like. It was an enormously responsible job at the best of times, but this new development was outside of her expectations. Massively so, in fact. Their three pilots had formed a mini-gestalt among themselves. Her responsibility as a scientist was to understand why, how, if there were negative side effects, and assorted other information.
As it was, she'd hit a dead end. She had reached that point where she had stared at the same lines of data over and over again, until her eyes started to blur over. It was impossible for her to retain it anymore. As such, she decided to unwind and talk with an old friend who had enough security clearance and prior knowledge of the situation to act as a sounding board.
"Hey, you look like death," Misato said upon opening the door.
"And you look like you crawled out of a hedge when you woke up today," Ritsuko said. She stepped inside. The place was as tidy as usual - that is to say, not very. "You don't mind, do you? I've been beating my head against a wall for days now, and I just cannot figure this out."
"It's not like I have anything else to do," Misato said. "So, what's the problem?"
"This whole gestalt thing," Ritsuko said. "I don't get it. None of it makes any sense at all." How to explain it...? "When a scientist wants to confirm something, they look for two kinds of proof. Positive and negative. Positive proof is anything in the data that supports your argument. Negative proof is when you find something that denies it. A counter-example. I've looked over the data to try and figure out why those three got their minds connected like that, and it doesn't fit at all."
"In what way?" Misato asked. Ritsuko pulled up a chair and slumped into it, and then Misato tossed a beer over. Normally she wouldn't, but right now she needed it badly enough that she slammed it back.
"The variables don't match," she said. "The closest I got to explaining it is a situation that should be replicable quite easily, but it hasn't happened at all." Ritsuko rolled her shoulders, god they were so stiff. "I just don't get it. I'm missing something. I just cannot see it no matter how carefully I look everything over."
"So here I am to serve as your griping board," Misato rolled her eyes. "Well. It sounds to me like you're too tightly wound up for your own good. You need to relax."
Actually, Misato seemed pretty relaxed herself. She'd expected that the woman would be run ragged by the trio. Instead, aside from looking a bit bedraggled she seemed pretty chill. Her hair was a mess, she was barely dressed, and -
"Did you hook up with someone?" Ritsuko asked. "You've got that glow about you. Don't tell me - Kaji?"
Ritsuko glanced over to the door to her room. Closed. Well, well. What might she find if she took a peek in there? An old flame reignited? It almost made her feel like she was back at university again. Gossiping about relationships, drinking beer together, getting extremely stressed about all the work they weren't getting done. A blast from the past.
"A lady doesn't kiss and tell!" Misato sniffed. "Luckily, I'm no lady, and he railed me good last night. He's sleeping it off right now, but don't let that put you off. You sound pretty stressed out."
"Hrm... Maybe I should find a boyfriend, then?" Ritsuko teased. Or maybe she should hit up Gendo for a quick lay. "That might replace one form of stress with another, though..."
"Oh, Kaji and I worked out a few of our issues last night," Misato said. "There's really nothing for us to worry about anymore. We have a much better and deeper understanding of one another than we've ever had."
That sounded pretty good. "How envious," Ritsuko chuckled. "To love and be loved, that is the goal of all humanity, whether we realise it or not. And yet, the hedgehog's dilemma..."
She winced again. Oof! This is what she got for sitting in a chair all night. No doubt which of them had more fun, huh? Misato seemed to notice and immediately moved behind her.
"Ah, careful now," Ritsuko teased. "Your man might get jealous if he sees you touching me like that."
"Turned on, more like it," Misato whispered breathily into her ear. "You know how men can be with two pretty women. I'm sure Shinji feels that way when Asuka and Rei get a bit too close as well."
Hrm? Asuka and Rei...? Something about the way Misato said that was a bit strange and - Ah! Ohhh, not bad, Misato. Not bad at all! Still...
"If that's the case, we probably shouldn't give him the wrong idea," Ritsuko said.
"Who said it's the wrong idea?" Misato asked. "We want you to join us, Ritsuko. We know you used to have a crush on Kaji too, so why not... Have fun with both of us?"
The wheels in her head started to turn, turn, turn upon hearing that little remark. "Ah... You know, one of those conditions I dismissed for forming the gestalt was - Was exposure to intense sexual relief at the same time as another gestalt," Ritsuko said. "I- I dismissed it as irrelevant because it would rely upon a gestalt already existing, but - "
"But it turned out to be completely true."
Dread washed over her upon hearing that. Mortal horror for her situation. Misato's grip on her shoulders grew much tighter, much stronger, much less movable than before. Despite her efforts to stand, she was suddenly being held in place by fearsome strength.
For that little statement hadn't been said in one voice, but rather two. Kaji was now standing in the doorway of Misato's room, absolutely naked and very obviously erect, checking Ritsuko herself out.
"Two chicks at once, that sounds like an awesome deal," both Misato and Kaji said in unison. "Trust us. You're gonna love this."
