Discussion: Rei Swarm + First Impressions

Rei Swarm
Plenty of ways this one can go. It really boils down to what Rei chooses to do. I'm not convinced she'd take them up on the offer honestly, so perhaps some other direction would work better here?

Urusei Yatsura: First Impressions
I figure, Benten's bad luck is going to ruin everyone's day. It also feels like the climax to this should come soonish, so we don't dwell too much on this part of the series.

  1. Given how easily they flat-out stole her arms, I think option one is the way to go here. Fake it until she's not in such a disadvantaged situation. Of course, who knows how well it'll *work*, but it's a decent plan at least...

    1. *Pretend* to go along with it.

    2. Yeah I don't see this Rei as being so in love with Shinji she'd give in right away, plus she's obviously at a disadvantage so she needs to go along with them for a while.

  2. UY FI: Yeah, this has gone on a while, so the question is how to wrap things up? The simplest option I can think of is if Benten drops into the mix and one look at her makes the demon go "Oh, no chance I'm getting lucky in this house today." But since she'll want to get something out of it, perhaps she'll just make an appeal to Sakura along the lines of "Hold it! You've forged a link with me by your bargain which could really mess things up to you, but I'll now offer to consider our bargain fully upheld and leave by my own power in exchange for one brief kiss."

    1. UY FI: Hmmm. Maybe when Shinobu is watching Sakura and the demon and trying to make up her mind as to what to do (instinct to help warring with instinct to be a voyeur), Ataru and Benten fall into the room through the ceiling because the wood just happened to be rotten where they stood, of course.

Then the demon sees Benten and realizes she's not getting lucky today, like you suggested, maybe she sees a really dark aura of bad luck emanating from Benten, but nonetheless tries to get something out of it from Sakura. I've been thinking that Sakura would try to resist the demon's temptations by yelling out that she's engaged (potential for wordplay here: Sakura: "No, you can't, I'm engaged!" To which the demon replies after a moment's confused pause: "Yes, you are." Leading Sakura to yell: "I mean I have a fiancé, idiot!"). To which the demon's response would be to ask where is this fiancé and why isn't he here to help her out... which would then subtly feed into Sakura's underlying resentment toward Tsubame for being away so much. And despite being in her twenties, I would hazard a guess that Sakura's still a virgin on account of her lengthy history of severe illness... but with Sakura now all fit and healthy, there would be one very healthy and willing young male around to satisfy her pent-up urges...

Anyway, just some thoughts. It may not necessarily have to lead to Sakura and Ataru doing the deed right then and there, but it might create an opening for it later on... like when Sakura becomes the new school nurse, for example.

Oh, and after the demon had left, all four would hear commotion coming from outside and, looking out the windows carefully, see one hell of a brawl taking place right outside, with pro-wrestling moves and all. ;)
