You know, it's funny, but looking back I sure do make more use of Keito than the manga or the anime did. Is it because, somehow, the core cast isn't interesting enough so I decided to diversify the harem even further? Is it an in built fascination or intrigue with characters that in all honesty don't have much depth to them? A desire to expand upon them more than their original creator had ever intended, or perhaps -
Let's be real here, it's the legs. Your man likes him some legs. No, not the spider legs, the human legs. Keito is a tall girl with nice human legs. She also has lots of nasty spider legs, but she generally keeps those tucked away, and -
She was, at present, in the girl's bathroom splashing water on her face. For some reason, she felt really... Hot. It was far too hot. Way too warm, even though she wasn't wearing that many layers and frankly? The atmosphere in yokai academy tended towards moderate at the best of times.
Yet here she was, in the bathroom, sweating buckets and breathing like she'd run a marathon.
"What's going on here?" she grumbled under her breath - and then an image came to mind. That boy. Tsukune. Biting her lip, she fought down the urge to smile, but could not stop her heart from skipping a beat. Nnnrgh~ Her legs crossed together, and she gripped onto the sink. If it had been a sink in the human world, it would have buckled and broken under her strength, but this was a sink made by yokai, for yokai. It would still break - but it would require more than this.
"Why...?" she demanded. "Why am I so..." She couldn't even say the word. Horny. She was horny, she wanted to bang that Tsukune troublemaker so bad. The idea of being pinned down and bred by him was becoming almost something like... second nature.
He'd done something to her. He'd done something to her, and it was overwhelming her, and that was so hot. That was so fucking hot. She's a girl that respects power, that wields it and dominates others using it, and it's so hot that he's beating her without even trying. Or was he also twisting her thinking to make her turned on by the fact that he's turning her on against her will?
Either way, it was still against her will! She did not want to be turned on, but she was being turned on and -
Boing!
Without warning, her boobs shot up a size. Keito let out a shriek of shock, then looked at herself in the mirror - and noticed that her eyes were bloodshot. And that her skin was paler than usual. And - And!
Shing!
Her fingernails shot out, becoming like miniature knives. Then, just as suddenly, wings shot out of her back and she felt her mind filling up with knowledge about seduction about blood about ice and water and magic and it wasn't the sort of knowledge that she could articulate, it was all instinctual information. Engraved into her bones, into her cells, into every atom of her being, and then, just as suddenly -
She was back to normal. Keito found herself standing in front of the sink, clinging onto it for dear sweet life, and left with only one conclusion to draw.
"I have a crush on that boy," she said. "Right. Okay then. I'm not a black widow, but maybe I should act like one."

There's a tendency within authoritarian types to delude themselves into thinking that if they rally together, behind the big central figure that wields absolute power, they might be spared that person's wrath. For a time, that's certainly true. Yes, they will not wield it in your direction - but by placing yourself there you put yourself directly in the splash zone. If something goes wrong, or if something goes amiss, and they simply do not need you? Done. You're dead. You're at tremendous risk at taking the fall.
But hey, that's just how authoritarian types think. They're not going to do anything wrong. They're one of the good ones. And that's what makes them such terrifying monsters.
Keito was the spider walking into the den of a larger predator. She was... in control of herself. For now. If she showed weakness or insubordination within this room, she would likely not walk out of it. If she lost control over herself, like before, in favour of that boy, that boy, that cute handsome boy, that cute handsome boy that had done something to her that - That she couldn't even talk about, for if she did there was a chance she'd be experimented upon to find out what it was.
And that's another key weakness to be held by such views - instead of coming together as the movement often says it must, to protect the greater whole, it often incentivises selfish behaviours like this. It's not even the concern that they would definitely do that - the mere possibility that they might has her this spooked!
And she has good reason to be afraid. After all, the head of the disciplinary committee, the student safety commission, is an S-ranked yokai, who is powerful by even the standards that implies.
Kuyo is not a man you fuck with if you like not being burned alive where you stand.
"I understand there was an altercation with members of the newspaper club," Kuyo said. "Keito? What can you tell me about them?"
"There is little to tell at this stage," she said. "It seems likely that a third party has been attempting to manipulate us into attacking them - though it is currently equally likely that it is an attempt by the newspaper club to throw us off them. May I make a recommendation?"
"You may," Kuyo calmly said. Keito gulped.
"I would advise that we watch them further, while investigating this third party," she said. "We have more than enough resource to observe the newspaper club, and should be able to pull in our full forces - if necessary - to crush them if they step out of line. While I find it hard to believe that there is a third party involved -"
"The possibility that someone believes they can use us as a weapon against their enemies is too insulting to bear," Kuyo interrupted. "Our thinking aligns. While it would be pleasant to grind the newspaper club under our heel yet again - The idea that someone else thinks they could wield us like a weapon to do their dirty work for them..."
With a mere gesture, he destroyed a chair sitting in the corner of the room.
"Very well then!" Kuyo announced. "Keito, I would like you to approach the club, assuming the position that someone is trying to set us up against them. You shall claim to be acting as, aha, protection for them - but in truth you will be monitoring their activities. Your presence alone should be sufficient to keep them in line while the rest of us investigate this mysterious third party. Should you fail to report in, we shall assume that the club has rebelled - but I believe they will be too paranoid by your presence to take any further action. Are we quite clear?"
"Crystal!"
She turned on her heel and walked out of the room, biting her lip. Already, her treasonous, ravenously horny mind was conjuring up ways for her to find time alone with that boy. That boy. That blasted boy who would be such a good mate! But she was also angry with him for doing this to her, even as it turned her on!
=====
Kuyo is not stupid. People like him rarely are. The problem is not intelligence, nor is it a lack of empathy per se. It's more like, those things are means to an end. Understanding the emotional process of other people is a means to have power over them. To get what you want. While it would be easy to believe that Kuyo truly did only value power, that he was so strong that he routinely simply took what he desired... it was not quite that simple where he was concerned.
"Sato," he said. That particular member of the committee stood at attention, even more so than he was already. "In your honest viewpoint - is Keito behaving strangely?"
"Forgive me sir," Sato said. "That girl has always been strange in my view."
Kuyo sighed wearily. He might not be stupid, but alas...
"Then I shall rephrase the question," Kuyo said. "Did her body language seem different to you at all?"
"Hrm... Yes, I believe it was a little bit different," Sato said. "She normally walks with pride and confidence. Exerting her strength and force of will on those around her. But just now, it almost felt like she wanted attention on her for its own sake. Does that make sense?"
"Indeed," Kuyo sighed. "She walked, not like a warrior as she usually does, but like a woman struggling with her feelings towards her first crush. It is hard to believe - but she may have been seduced by a member of the newspaper club."
"Would you like me to -"
"One of their members is a succubus," Kuyo patiently said. "Sending a boy would be folly. Instead - Deshi. You shall go. You are, after all, under a seal that controls your mind and body. You cannot be seduced. Watch her from a distance. Watch the actions of the newspaper club. Pretend that you are getting reports, and exchanging messages between us and her regarding the investigation."
"Yes, sir!" Deshi saluted, chipper as always, and then skipped out of the room. Kuyo smiled, feeling quite happy with himself - little realising he'd just sent the lamb to the slaughter.
