Discussion: Parallel Ranma + NGE Ring of Truth
Parallel Ranma: Not gonna lie. Not liking the newest episodes added to this one. I might just ignore the additions and go back to my own most recent thread, or maybe just the one after that? I do kind of like the idea of Kuno being given some kind of freaky power enhancement. That could be fun to play with. What do you guys think?
NGE Ring of Truth: This one has also proceeded a little bit... Strange, I thought for certain I'd written another addition past that point. After checking through the blog's history, apparently not. Huh. How strange! No wonder I was having trouble remembering where this one left off.
So... Shinji follows Asuka to try and figure out what is going on? I think that might be a fun way to go. Any thoughts?

Just so you know, I posted the Parallel Ranma episode following yours, so I'm biased in saying that one be kept. However I do agree the episodes following that should be ignored, mostly because it ended the Kuno subplot right then and there.
ReplyDeleteWhat I had planned for the Kuno subplot wasn't just Kuno getting a boost. Rather, it was the unintended consequences of Kuno's mysterious benefactor attempting his plot. Just so you know, he's the guy who complained about the lack of Ranma-chan/Kuno action back in episode 900801.

The thing is, following this guy's visit, I thought of two things he didn't plan to happen.
1. He accidentally leaves something else in the Regular Ranma 1/2 Universe. Either another item of power or actual evidence of outside forces meddling with Ranma and co.'s sex lives. I thought of the holocube, actually being filled with assorted sex scenes involving Ranma and company, ending up in Happosai hands, but that sounds weak in terms of plot potential.
2) Due to the mysterious benefactor's mode of travel, there are tears in the multi-verse. Either the Perverted Universe and Regular Universe find themselves more directly interacting (with people physically visiting the other worlds, not just swapping bodies with their counterparts) or other alternate universes joining the confusion. Perhaps a gender-flip universe. Or maybe a Orwellian prude universe. Or a universe where Ranma 1/2 isn't a martial arts romantic comedy in Nerima, but a giant mecha romantic comedy in outer space.
As for the boost given to Kuno, I really haven't really thought about it, but I would think the mysterious benefactor only wants at least one Ranma-chan/Kuno scene together, and thus his gift to Kuno would at least ensure that one scene. Of course, there could be unintended consequences coming from that.
And addendum. Regarding the two things, I meant two possibilities. Either one could happen, not necessary both.
DeleteI completely agree about ignoring the episodes following Anon Writer's piece. They're half hearted at best.
ReplyDeleteFor the other thread, I take it you'd be continuing from HC's most recent episode? There are certainly interesting things that could come from that.
