Story: NGE Drive

Begun from this fatesplit.

It had been a calm month in Tokyo-3, which certainly made for a good change. No Angel attacks. No complaints regarding the money Nerv has to spend, no incidents with the pilots, no malfunctioning equipment. Calm. Peaceful. Some might say boring, but if anyone said the word they were liable to get -

“So bored,” Makoto whispered. Maya promptly stood up, whapped him hard on the back of his head and was back in her seat in one fluid motion, as if she’d never left. “Well, it is! The Evas are all fixed up, the pilots have steady sync levels, everything’s working, and there’s no sign of an Angel attack! We’re sitting here with our thumbs up our asses doing jack shit!”

“Language, please,” Maya chirped.

Shigeru scowled at Makoto. “I swear, Hyuga, if you just jinxed us and it all hits the fan because you got a bit bored...”

“You would have to get in line,” Ritsuko said, having entered the room without the three even noticing. “But you two should give him a little slack. The wait is the hard part for some people. Another Angel is bound to attack at any point, and we can use this time to prepare -”

All of a sudden, an alert sounded throughout the control room and all four moved into action with an impressive immediacy.

“No sign of an Angel!” Makoto said.

“If there had been, I’d have introduced your rectum to a cactus I bought yesterday!” Shigeru replied. “No unusual AT activity. The Evas are all in place, and all the equipment is still functioning fine. What the hell is it warning us about?”

“Got it!” Maya declared triumphantly. “It’s picked up a psychic wave of some sort. Destination unknown. Cause unknown.”

Ritsuko leaned over Maya’s console. “If these readings are right, it’s hitting the entire city,” she said, not noticing Maya lightly lick her lips while staring at her profile. “Damn! We’ve not finished testing psychic insulation yet, and it’s even penetrating this far! No wonder the Magi is so worried!”

Makoto shifted nervously in his seat. “It doesn’t appear to have done anything. I mean, if an Angel showed up right now I’d still want its butt kicked, so it’s not hypnotising us or anything.”

“It may not be an Angel,” Shigeru pointed out. “We should keep our minds open to all possibilities.”

“Quite right!” Ritsuko said. “But we should still operate on the worst case scenario. I will report this to the commander, the three of you continue to monitor this situation.”

Ritsuko Akagi turned to walk out of the room, lost in thought and concern over what this odd form of attack could possibly be, leaving the three behind to acquire as much data as possible. What could this be? Surely an Angel would have shown up, even if it had appeared in orbit. So how -

“Uh, Maya?” Shigeru said. “Are you okay? You got a weird look in your eyes for a minute there as Doctor Akagi left.”

“I’m fine,” Maya said, committing to memory the sight of her sempai leaving the room. “I’m perfectly fine.”

Elsewhere in the city, there was an apartment. It was not a home. It was a place to live in. Nothing more than that. The difference is that a home is where a person feels safe, comfortable. A place where one lives is merely a location to do what is necessary to live. To sleep. To eat. To bathe. To store things that were to be kept.

It was a filthy room with little regard for where things were stored. Nothing more than a simple bed to sleep upon, a place to store clothes, a table and nothing else. No personal touches. The most basic of all possible living areas with no thought or care towards decoration or life. To merely look upon a picture of it was to come away with the impression that it was cold, grimy, perhaps a prison of some sort? It was in this room that Rei Ayanami was now waking up.

She felt... odd. Of late - partly due to the influence of Pilot Ikari - she had been experimenting with a variety of emotions. Happiness. Anger. Fear. Sorrow.  Most other emotions she had experienced so far were some combination of those four.

This was new. Rei felt... good. It was a pleasant feeling, she decided. Yet, it was not joy, she was not happy. She did not think a smile would be appropriate for expressing this feeling. Pilot Ikari had made a point of smiling when happy, and since she was not happy -

Rei smiled and then caught herself doing so. What was that? A pleasantness had spread through her that felt much like happiness, and it had been triggered by thoughts of - Rei sighed and rubbed her thighs together. Happiness. Yes, this was real joy, brought about by thinking of Pilot Ikari. Was this happiness connected to her newly discovered feeling? There was but one way to discover the answer. Rei rolled out of bed, and mechanically washed, dressed and ate before leaving. Pilot Ikari would know the answer. He would help her understand this feeling. He would be able to help her make it last as long as possible.

Shinji stared down at himself with no small measure of embarrassment. His erect member stared back at him. It was odd. He’d been to the bathroom, somehow worked out how to go without making a mess, discretely rubbed one out, but it was still there. Still standing tall and proud and ready for action.

“Come on, Shinji! Time for breakfast!” Misato called through the door. What she really meant was ‘make breakfast, feed me!’

“C-coming, Misato!” he called, pulling on his trousers and taking every effort to meticulously hide his unfortunately persistent arousal. Damn. But what was wrong with him?

Shinji left the room vaguely satisfied that it wasn’t obvious. So long as he didn’t encounter anything too erotic he’d be f- hello Misato’s cleavage! No, wait draw back a bit. She was leaning sleepily on the table with the unfortunate consequence of her loose top revealing rather a lot more of herself than she’d intended. Shinji averted his eyes by focusing on hers, which were almost closed like she was falling asleep. Was she already drunk?

“Misato?” He asked. “Are you... feeling alright?”

“Ignore that lazy drunk and make breakfast already!” Asuka yelped from the television. Shinji turned to the source of the voice and felt his brain shut down. Asuka was... excercising. In very tight shorts. Very, very tight.

“She’s been like this since she woke up,” Misato said, with an odd lilt to her voice. “Can’t seem to sit still for a second.”

“I’m full of energy!” Asuka yelled, reaching down and touching her toes. Shinji swore that his heartbeat altered to match her rapid motions. Or maybe she could hear it and the reverse was true? Either way it seemed appropriate given the heart shape of her rear end... “Got to burn it off! Got to move move move! And when I’m done moving, I’ll be wanting to fill my belly, so get going going gone and make me food!”

“... Buh...” Shinji said, turning towards the kitchen to make something to eat. “...Gah... Dee... Buh...”

Whatever else was true, Shinji knew this much. Today had all the makings of a long, hard day.

Maya approached Doctor Akagi’s office with a great deal of trepidation. The scans had revealed no new information regarding the mysterious psychic assault, even after working all night on the problem. No answers were forthcoming, no explanations satisfied the little they did know, and - Well, they were stumped with no idea how to even determine what to do about the situation. It was like trying to solve a crossword when half the clues were torn off.

Reporting this was not entirely an exciting prospect, let’s say.

The door opened, and her sempai was leaning against her desk, looking beautiful (as always) and weary, which made Maya flat out forget why she’d even come here to begin with.

“Um... Is something wrong, sempai?”

“It’s nothing much, Maya,” Ritsuko sighed. “I’m just concerned about my pussy.”

Maya froze for a moment, as her mind took her to all sorts of fun and exciting places. No, no, she didn’t mean it like that. She obviously meant her pet cat. Right. Her pet cat.

“I used to play with my pussy all the time,” Ritsuko continued. “But now I don’t have the time. I feel like I’m ignoring the poor thing.”

My goodness, was it hot in here all of a sudden? To Maya’s thinking it seemed that way.

“I remember the day I first gave it a good rub,” Ritsuko smiled, lost in wistful memories. “Such a good pussy. I could barely stop once I started. But now it’s not quite as good a pussy as it used to be. I think it’s started to resent me a little.”

“You - You don’t say...” Maya whimpered. Cat. The subject of the discussion is a cat. Remember that, keep that in mind, don’t be stupid... “Maybe your pussy needs companionship?”

“Hm... You mean get another pussy for it to play with? It does seem to enjoy that. Goodness, Maya! Your nose! It’s bleeding!”

“Oh my goodness, sempai! You’re quite right! I’ll just leave this report on your desk, and you can let me worry about taking care of your pussy!”

“That would be appreciated, Maya. Thank you. I’m pretty sure you’ll like playing with my pussy, and she’ll like you too.”

And that’s why Maya fainted on the spot.

  1. Rei visits Misato's home to talk to Shinji.
  2. Off to school where everyone is behaving a little odd.
  3. Ritsuko works out that the psychic assault is influencing the libido of everyone in the city.
  4. There's a sync test today! How does the psychic wave interfere, if it does at all?
  5. Something else
