Given the reaction to the latest update for KNT, I have decided to try and address the concerns by explaining my long term plans for this thread. Do not read further if you don't want to see spoilers.
My intention for the episode immediately following this one will hopefully make the point clearer. While I do intend to leave open the option for others to take it in the direction that seems to be a concern, I won't be going that way.
To begin with, Ranma and Akane are not mindless slaves. They're still fundamentally them save for their growing devotion to Konatsu. They will gladly do anything they believe will make him happy, but neither of them believes for a second that springing a harem on him is going to do that. Nor will revealing the level of devotion they both have for him. They know him well enough to understand that this might, in fact, make him quite miserable. Nor are they even really capable of buiding the harem particularly quickly. They must trick Konatsu into performing the techique on anyone, or I suppose they could hunt down other mind control/love spell items and use those... But that's not the way I want this story to go at all.
So, the first thing they intend to do is build up his confidence. No, make that the second thing. First thing is get him looked at by Doctor Tofu. When he wakes up during treatment, Ranma and Akane try to ascertain what will make Konatsu happy, including a relationship with Ukyo. Except the kunoichi does not believe he is worthy of such a thing, and besides which Ukyo will not give up on Ranma so easily, and things get turned around when Tofu points out that she might if Ranma and Akane would just get together already. Which Konatsu reluctantly agrees with. Because the two of them are so thoroughly devoted to Konatsu, they start planning to "get together" later on.
Though this is ultimately intended as a Konatsu harem thread, I believe that a slow burn is the best way to go. Have Ranma and Akane improve Konatsu's confidence, try to get him to accept the idea that he's worthy of "underlings"... And then at some point down the line he works out what's really going on, and tries to work out ways to undo the effect. Tries. Fails.
I hope this helps in some way to alleviate concerns regarding the direction of this thread. If not, please ask questions or suggest improvements in the comments.
