Discussion: Worst Demon Hunter + Level Upper Railgun

Oh, this is an interesting pair to see win.

Worst Demon Hunter:
This is pretty tough. I don't think it would be a great idea for Demon Motoko to announce her presence yet, she's extremely powerful and cocky but would probably want to have more fun before a direct confrontation. So Option 1 is out. The other options have some teeth to them. Having Kanako show up could be pretty interesting especially, since she's almost certainly a luck demon like Keitaro.

Level Upper Railgun
To be honest I've been looking forward to this one for a while. Option one is the way I'm intending to go, unless someone can sell me on another option. In essence, I was thinking it would be funny if she takes a bunch of selfies, but also gets photobombed by people wondering what she's doing. So she moves elsewhere to continue trying to level up, but simply can't get any peace.

All the while, the images are getting more and more erotic due to the device and the setting she's put it to.

Thoughts? Better ideas? Go ahead.

    1. Indeed I did. You've read the idea in the post above? In which case I have to ask who you think would interrupt her, and what their reaction would be. I don't know this series very well, you understand.

    2. Ah, sorry for the late answer, but I was on the phone when I first posted.^^

There are a number of people she could run into. Let us for a moment ignore people like Touma who should be in school.

There is Accelerator who theoretically is a student of Nagatenjouki Academy, but never goes to school. He wouldn't actually give a shit even if Kuroko decided to strip naked and dance on a Sombrero. Though he may make some sarcastic comments. On the other hand, the small bundle of joy that follows him around would certainly be curious and start asking all sorts of questions about why Kuroko is doing this, what she is doing. If she can make pictures of her, if she would make pictures of her etc....

Now Last Order is a clone of Misaka that looks like a 10-year old version of her. While Kuroko is unlikely to think they are actually related, she may start to have weird reactions... I could hear her voice already. (I am not a lolicon! I swear I am not!) Or something like that... Her way of speaking is also kinda hilarious so I do like her^^

Another possibility is Shokuhou Misaki, who again is officially a student.... but well she has casual mind control, memory-wipes, mental manipulation etc.... so she may just leave school because she is bored. She would likely be very amused and may try to get Kuroko to continue with her...

The Misaka clones are another possibility, though this may be a bit too early for us to break Kuroko. (She may just go crazy from seeing multiple examples of her beloved Onee-sama or think the whole thing is a dream... which I guess could work as a way to do that?)

Musujime Awaki is another possibility..... the slightly psycho Teleporter that almost got Kuroko killed. I am not sure how their meeting would go here. But it would likely involve a huge lot of Awaki mocking Kuroko...

Index is a possibility. She occasionally gets bored (and hungry) when Touma isn't around and I am pretty sure she does not sit around in his room when he is in school.

There is magic side characters like Agnese Sanctis (Nun, would be ashamed and possibly angry depending on when she runs into Kuroko during her lewdening photo-events), Kanzaki Kaori (Mostly embarrassed, but probably also curious on whether that is something Touma would like^^) or Stiyl Magnus who she could run into.....

Actually Stiyl could be amusing. He looks like he is an guy in his 30s, but he is actually 14! (Seriously, he is a huge redheaded chainsmoker. He is the opposite of Tsukuyomi Komoe.)

And of course there is Kazakiri Hyouka. Artificial Angel who lives in a parallel universe born from the energy of the city's Espers. Busty, kind and a good bit of a wallflower. The funny thing with her is that she randomly moves from her reality to the normal world. (She seems to have limited control over this as the plot of Index goes on, but it is still a bit random) So she could reasonably pop up in places none of the other characters would pop up.

  2. For some more detail:

The Misaka clones speak in a very cold and methodical manner. But this is ruined by the fact that they 1. speak in third person and 2. loudly proclaim their inner thoughts and emotions. "Misaka thinks this is a bad idea while trying to hide her excitement." They even do that when it is a bit of a bad idea. Like saying the taste of vanilla was delicious after stealing someone's ice cream.

Shokuhou Misaki is girl with a chest size that makes people wonder if she is really the same age as Misaka & Co. She acts a bit like she is a queen (her nikname is Queen of Tokiwadai while Misaka is called Ace of Tokiwadai. They have a lot of rivalism and Misaka dislikes her.) and generally makes lots of jokes at the expense of others. She doesn't trust people whose mind she cannot read and has no real friends. The only person she trusts without question is a certain unlucky boy. (Aka, the protagonist of the canon series.) She is also very casual about mind controling people. Doing it when it is convenient or she is too lazy to do something herself. Or erasing people's memories when they see something about her that is embarrassing. She also uses her powers for combat to hilarious effects. Like "You are now deadly scared of sailor uniforms" is a genuine thing she used in canon. She cannot effectively use her powers without a remote, because it is too chaotic and has too many ways to use it. She has categorized her power into multiple abilities. The Sailor Uniform Phobia is category Nr. 220.

  3. Hrm, okay. That does give me some ideas. Let's go for three of those, as per the rule of three.

Index, Agnes and Misaki sound like a sufficiently varied depth of experience. Probably in that order. The way I see it is essentially as follows:

She starts off really uncertain about what she's doing, but pushes herself into taking photos and deleting them. She notices herself levelling up, and for scientific purposes repeats the same pose as her last picture to see how it compares. Then she hears Index whining about food and then asking what game she's playing. The conversation carries on from there, ending with "there's the fridge, bye." and leaving.

Off to a new location, possibly a rooftop somewhere. She continues experimenting and really liking what she's seeing - then gets caught out by Agnes, who chews her out and insists on taking "chaste and proper" photographs. They do try this, but the photo still comes out lewd - not that Agnes checks this. She assumes everything was above board, not noticing a wardrobe malfunction from both of them.

Onto the last area, Misaki finds her and "persuades" her to take photos of her instead. She finds this "level upper" device fascinating, but is more interested in seeing how it's ultimately used than bothering to take it for herself. Hell, she may even offer to help experiment with the device, and even help level up this strange skill!

Does all that sound congruent? Ah! And if you want to help me more directly within a gdoc, then send me an email through the "contact me" page.

  4. Yeah, that sounds good. Maybe note that Shokuhou does not think the Level Upper is thaaat powerful. And given who Kuroko plans to target, this is a great way to bother her "rival"

I will send a mail tomorrow.
