Discussion: Authority Badge + Curvy Akane
Authority Badge: I think it's about time Ataru experimented a little more with a different department, but I can't quite think what that something might be. It might also be kind of fun to follow up on the effects he's had on other people a little more, but not just the ones we've already seen.
Curvy Akane: While it is tempting to make Akane start to like this new form a little more, I think she'd fight off that idea at least a little while longer before succumbing. Therefore, we must find ways to corrupt her more intensely than this.

Authority Badge: Not really sure what Ataru might try either. Though he might wind up making a choice for some spur of the moment reason without thinking things through (He is fundamentally highly impulsive after all.) On loose idea is that if his chosen authority has something to do with Fantasies, he might find Sakura seeking him out this time.
ReplyDeleteAs far as characters impacted, one possibility that's occurred to me is that Ataru's interaction might have made Shinobu a 'fantasy expert' who suddenly finds everyone wanting to confide in her and ask her advice. And one thing I'm thinking ought to be added to Sakura's development at some point is her trying to seek out porn to try to make herself fantasize about someone other than Ataru. I'm envisioning a moment where after putting aside one bit, she picks it up again saying something like, "Well hopefull this isn't as shameless as that last. . . I wonder what DP means?" or something along those lines.
As far as Ran goes, perhaps have her want to take her time and make plans before jumping into action, except have encouragement suddenly keep jumping in, like all the local resteraunts suddenly putting their oyster dishes on sale. And for the possibility of Ran adopting a new persona, possibly have her make a failed attempt at draining someone, and while still feeling the feedback effect she jumps to an attempt at 'protecting her reputation' by throwing on a pair of glasses or tying a quick ribbon in her hair and pretending she's not Ran, except then she gets way too caught up in her attempted deception.
With Curvy Akane, "succumbing" needn't be a single all-or-nothing proposition. In fact, it would be much less believable if it were. It's the little things here and there there, the small concessions she doesn't even necessarily realize she's making that that start to add up rather than having her reach one great breaking point.
ReplyDeleteStill, I agree with your basic point that she ought to progress a bit further (I hesitate to call it corrupting) before she gets close to the point of actually accepting the new state of things.
