Bet that title got you panicking, right? Well, don't worry. I'm not retiring from the addventure or anything like that. I'm just retiring a thread that I haven't enjoyed writing for in a long, long long time.
Every time it wins the vote, I have the same reaction: Really? Why? And it's not just me either. The only comments the thread seems to get on the addventure itself are extremely negative. Nobody seems to like it. Yet it wins on a regular basis, even gaining periodic updates that are quite obviously geared more towards getting me to update it again rather than providing any kind of substantial progression in events.
So I've been half assing it. I just don't care.In fact, I've actively started hating this particular thread because it feels like I'm wasting time on it that could be spent writing for other threads that I do genuinely enjoy.
That is why, with a heavy heart, I am disqualifying Parallel Ranma from further participation in the voting. I dislike the idea that its votes are being wasted. Actually I should have taken this stand a long time ago. Therefore I am willing to take suggestions for reassigning its points value.
I wouldn't worry about this happening to other threads, by the way. The closest that have come to annoying me as much as Parallel Ranma still have plenty of room for me to play around with some fun ideas, and haven't been nearly as negatively received on the addventure and so I don't mind them half as much. It's just... I can't take doing this thread anymore. Let it rest. Let it die. Please. Don't try to make me write for it again. It hurts.
Well, I've never even read Parallel Ranma so I don't mind one bit.
ReplyDeleteAs for suggestions, I'd say the simplest is to just reassign the points value to the top fics on the vote list.
I'd never read that one either, so I can't really comment on it, but I'd suggest distributing its points to the top five most-requested fics voted on this week.
ReplyDeleteMy goodness. The comment on the last episode was ridiculously hostile, so I certainly understand if neither you nor the anonymous contributor want to subject yourselves to that. It always seems to be the Ranma threads that draw the biggest complaints, doesn't it?
