There's something deeply unsettling about syringes suddenly flying out of a person's head. Sharp, long needles with something waiting on the other end? Could be anything. Could be saline, could be some form of drug - or worst of all, it could be air. No really. Air being injected into your veins is potentially lethal, for reasons Sailor Mercury wasn't in a good mental position to properly and fully articulate because she was way too busy dodging.
"Time for triage," Doctor said with a rather sinister smile. He tapped at his stethoscope, then held it up to the air. "Let's see. A Demon, a prodigy, and the prodigy's mother. While the Demon is the largest threat by its very nature..."
While he spoke Mercury was already diving in to deal with the creep. A diving tackle, an attempt to sit on his face to keep him from attacking. Alas, for her trouble Sailor Mercury wound up taking a rectal thermometer instead. Cold, cold, cold!
"The mother is the weak point who needs immediate treatment, as she is the least experienced in combat," Doctor said. "Especially as she is quite sceptical of the supernatural, even now."
"Intriguing diagnosis," Mercury's mother said. Sailor Craters produced a pair of glasses and began to rub them with some cloth. "Although, Doctor, might I advise that you take one other symptom into account?"
"Another symptom...?" Doctor said, stopping in his tracks before he could reach her. "What symptom might this be?"
"The adrenaline rush a mother feels when she witnesses her daughter being attacked," Sailor Crateris said, starting her sentence on one side of the room, and finishing it with her hands around Doctor's throat. Lifting him quite bodily up into the air. Frost began to appear on her fingertips as she stared up at him, cold and emotionless. "How dare you insert a rectal thermometer without first warning the patient you would do so. Only a pervert would engage in such action."
"Observation!" Doctor said. "You guys... are perverts! That's kind of your whole deal!"
Crateris stopped for a moment to process that. Yes. That's right. They were perverts weren't they? Therefore she should be pleased at seeing her daughter be violated like that, shouldn't she? Ah, this whole situation was so confusing for her - and that was exactly what Doctor was aiming for! He produced a scalpel and aimed right for Saeko's carotid artery, plunging it into her neck without mercy!
"Mother!" Mercury yelled, while Libra dove forward to tackle the creep outside the room. Mercury rolled over to Crateris, panic gripping her enough that she stopped trying to take out that damned rectal thermometer so she could make sure her mother was okay. "Oh gosh, oh gosh, oh gosh! We need to stop the bleeding!"
"I'll deal with this!" Crateris said, pressing her hand against where the scalpel had struck. "Go! Stop him from hurting anyone else. I'll be fine. Physician, heal thyself."
Mercury nodded in understanding. Of course. That man was a threat to everyone here! She rose to her feet and rushed out of the room just in time to see Libra getting hurled across the ward by a stretcher. The sight would have been comedic if it wasn't so horrific. Right, of course, their benefactor was a bit out of practice when it came to battling personally...
"Here is my second opinion," Doctor said, straightening his lab coat. "It is clear that Doctor Mizuno -"
"Sailor Crateris," Mercury interrupted, brooking no nonsense from this evil, evil man.
"It is clear that Sailor Crateris is in possession of some form of ice power," Doctor said. "Very well then. Furthermore, symptoms of 'numbers advantage' appear to be on your side. In that case, allow me to equalise the matter."
He pulled out a bunch of scalpels from... somewhere. Mercury didn't want to think about where. She braced herself, ready to dodge at a moment's notice then launch her counterattack... except he wasn't aiming at them. He was aiming at the other patients in the ward.
"No!"
Mercury threw out her hand, and created caressing mist throughout the ward in an attempt, desperate as it was, to do something to change the direction of the razor sharp implements. All it might take was a slight deviation, and that might be enough to prevent any damage - but the knives were too sharp, and it was obvious they were enchanted by this fiendish Doctor's magic.
He loomed out of the mist and wrapped his stethoscope around Mercury's neck, hauling her towards himself. Mercury raised her hand to block the incoming hand, crossing her wrists to block his before he could plunge a syringe into her.
"Tsk, tsk," Doctor said, pulling on his stethoscope, tightening it around her neck. "Perhaps it would be better if I threw that syringe into another nearby patient? Ah, not to worry though. There's nothing in it."
"You fiend!" Mercury hissed. He was trying to make her drop her guard so he could stick her with an attack of some sort. It was taking all she had to keep the syringe at bay.
"Either you get stuck with it, or another patient does," Doctor asked. Trying to play on her hero's instinct. This creature thought of itself as an agent of order, but from where Mercury was standing it was no such thing. It was an agent of chaos! Nothing more, nothing less. "Very well. Time for another patient to take their medicine!"
He hurled the syringe across the hall, directly towards another patient's bed - where it struck ice, making a loud clink when it did. He turned to look, startled by the unexpected sound, and then Mercury dispelled the mist. Her mother was brilliant. Truly, a brilliant doctor. Not like this thing masquerading as one.
"Interesting ability," Crateris said, holding her hand up to her neck and rubbing it carefully. "I can freeze a wound solid without harm to the patient. Normally this kind of flash freezing would be extremely harmful, but this ice has some obvious healing properties. I must study this in greater detail! But first!"
She thrust out her hip, catching Doctor's face right between her cheeks before dragging him to his knees, where she proceeded to squat thrust across the hallway while doing her rounds, dragging their enemy along with them.
"It's not uncomfortable, is it?" Crateris asked, checking the vitals of each patient in turn. Their old injuries as well as their new. It was.... Astonishing to watch. A real, true professional at heart. The model by which Ami Mizuno had set her life. She yearned to be that confident, that outspoken, that... Brilliant. Effortlessly amazing. "Good, good. We might have you out of here sooner than we were expecting."
Mercury walked up to her, truly astonished. The wound on her neck was completely covered by ice, just like she'd thought. Amazing. Really, that was incredible. Thinking of that sort of use for her powers.
"Mercury, could you do me a favour and smack my ass?" Crateris casually asked, and Mercury did so. Neither of them thought it was weird at all that the daughter smacked the ass of the hot MILFy mother while an evil man's face was trapped between her cheeks. "Good girl. It seems that this Doctor needs a reminder of Hippocrates."
"First, do no harm," Mercury mused. Thinking about it, the best way to put this to bed completely was... for her to turn around and back that ass up, completely enveloping this supposed Doctor's head between their enormous, heaving, jiggling mounds. In that moment, she felt closer to her mother than she could remember feeling. Mmm, yeah. That's right! Frost this crazy Doctor! Put him to bed, put him to rest - and just like that, she felt safer and more secure in the knowledge that her mother would be able to take care of herself.
After all, she could take care of all these patients at once so well while helping to raise Ami by herself. Compared to that, the forces of Order weren't shit.
