Story: Trick or Treat 1/2

Way out of season this one, but what the hell? Might as well, right?

Halloween at the Cat Cafe could only ever mean one thing: A change in costume to bring in customers! It wasn’t exactly a hard sell. After all, who could possibly resist a sexy girl like Shampoo dressed up like a vampire? Sure, she’d rather be spending her time tonight seducing her beloved Ranma, but there was a certain kind of fun to be had strutting around the restaurant and serving dinners, then periodically getting called away to do a “trick or treat” delivery. Business tonight was booming, and her great-grandmother had even developed a few clever menu alterations to draw in a further crowd. Shampoo particularly enjoyed one other aspect as well. The various traditions surrounding the holiday created ample opportunity for her to humiliate Mousse!

So the restaurant was completely packed when Shampoo heard the bell over the door ring. She whirled around to give her biggest and brightest greeting, then felt her spirits deflate on recognising her mortal enemy. Akane Tendo. Dressed up like a witch. How completely appropriate.

“Nihao, kitchen wrecker!” Shampoo cheerily said. Behind her the chatter died down quite a bit. Probably best to at least pretend to be polite “Witch costume suit you nice! Too bad, no tables free. Shampoo no have space for you.”

Akane quirked an eyebrow that set off alarm bells in Shampoo’s head, then strode right past her towards a table, leaned over to speak to the businessmen eating there, and whispered something that Shampoo couldn’t quite make out. Then, that done, she turned around and stuck her hands on her hips while the businessmen made rapid work of their meal, then threw down easily double the amount it was worth before politely, but quickly, leaving the restaurant.

There was little that got under Shampoo’s skin quite like seeing the main obstacle in her path to happiness being all smug and superior. In point of fact, she couldn’t think of anything else off the top of her head right now -

“Now, now, Shampoo, their meal’s complete! It seems there’s now an empty seat! If you don’t mind, if you don’t care, then I shall park my butt right here. My money’s good, although we’ll see, if you can serve a dish hotter than me.”

- There we go! That did the trick. Akane’s rhyming made her sick. It infuriated poor Shampoo, Ah! cut that out! She’s doing it too! While Shampoo shook off the infernal internal rhyming, Akane took the time to peer over her shoulder and wink at a few of the other customers that were looking at the two of them like they were putting on a show. Suddenly, Shampoo stared a little closer at Akane. That nose didn’t look plastic. The green on her skin didn’t look like makeup. And that figure! She’d discounted it at first as being a part of the costume, but replaying the normally figureless tomboy’s movements discounted that idea wholesale.

Which could only mean one thing: Something else was going on around here. Assuming this person even was Akane Tendo to begin with. Magic was in the air. Shampoo was on guard immediately, ready for everything. Though how one prepared for things like, for example, all of the tables in the restaurant spontaneously generating the same gravitational pull of Jupiter is beyond comprehension.

“What Akane really here for?” Shampoo asked carefully, watching the witch girl’s reaction very, very carefully. “Is you here to be pest?”

A transformation overcame Akane’s face all of a sudden. Up until now she had been all sunshine and lolipops. She’d worn a smile that could melt ice and had a bounce in her steps that made it seem like the whole world was a bouncy castle. Now, a fearsome expression lit within her. Now, her body language became much sharper. Colder and hotter at the same time.

“Oh dear, Shampoo, surely you jest! It’s not me that’s a major pest! Is that what you have got to say, when you try to steal my fiance? I’ll let you even try to worry, ’bout when you wiped my memory! Can’t take the hint, you sigh and scoff, whenever you should just fuck off!

“But no, I’m here to be quite bold. Revenge is a dish best served cold.”

Shampoo was about ready to pounce, until Akane suddenly picked up a menu like she hadn’t said or done anything at all. That… Kind of threw Shampoo for a loop. So did the fact that she managed to order without rhyming at all. None of the other customers seemed to have reacted at all. In fact, they were all rather openly staring at her and - Amazingly - Akane was encouraging them! She was adjusting her dress, crossing her legs and doing her damnedest to reveal as much of her thigh as possible. Though Shampoo did have to concede, it was rather difficult to pull her eyes away from that particular sight.

Alright. So. This was a rare opportunity. Akane Tendo never ate her food voluntarily as a matter of pride, probably. She didn’t want to acknowledge that the ‘pest’ trying to steal her fiance - Oh, the very idea that her husband could be engaged to someone else! Someone so - So weak and flat chested, no less! If she was going to come into her temporary home and place of work, and insult her like that - Well then! Why not have a little fun with her? It didn’t take long to find the right little spice for a little revenge. Nothing, say, poisonous exactly, but the effects would certainly make the tomboy think twice before trying anything. All she had to do was slip it into her apron and wait.

All the while, Akane continued to dominate the attention of their paying customers. Even when Shampoo walked right up to their table they would move to look around her at the green-skinned witch. Oh! But she would suffer! Soon enough, but not nearly soon enough in Shampoo’s eyes, the order came through. And she grinned. Oh, she grinned a malevolent grin. It was a simple enough action to slip a little something extra into Akane’s meal. All that she had to do was serve it on the table, and then stand back and wait for the right moment -

Though before Akane took a single bite she produced what looked like a wand and waved it over the food. “Just in case you could not tell, I’m about to cast a sexy spell. Whatever’s in this food will, times two, rebound off me into Shampoo. I will be safe from any spice, although Shampoo won’t find it nice. She should soon try to learn this switch: Never dare out-potion a witch!”

The wand was put down, and Shampoo very nervously swallowed as Akane gulped down the food. Oh, dear. True to the wording of the spell, she was starting to feel the effects. And what was more it was hitting her with a startling intensity and speed, running all over her body like a freight train! No, no, no! This wasn’t fair! Akane finished her meal, leaving the money on the table while Shampoo collapsed to the floor. Nobody seemed to notice. They were all too busy watching as Akane strutted out of the restaurant, cackling wildly to herself. If only she hadn’t done that! If only she hadn’t put that in the food! Now she was feeling double the effects of -

A suggestibility mushroom.
A love pill.
An emotion amplifier.
An aphrodisiac.
Something else
