Discussion: Ryuunosuke Alone + Ero Space

Ryuunosuke Alone:
I think it's time to introduce the camera. It being a weird alien camera, it needs some special features. Got any thoughts on what it could be? I think it might be a good idea to go through the episode without, strictly speaking, specifying what that is and leave that to the options. Everything else is simply following the characters getting ready for the photoshoot.

Ero Space: I'm fully aware that HC is wanting to write another addition to this, so I'm holding off on deciding what to do with this until that's done.

  1. Ryuunosuke Alone: How about having it be like the camera in that one manga story that turned out to be a device that transported people in into another direction. When Ataru used it, he ended up being transported to a desert land where he met an Arab princess.

    1. Well a direct use of that might be hard to justify even with 'Don't worry, the controls are intuitive', but it would perfectly fit Mendo's character for him to try putting himself into the center of this "Photo project" he's heard of, and bringing his family's cursed camera just to try impressing everyone.

  2. Ryu Alone: Considering how crazy some of the other alien tech can be, it's a real sky's the limit thing. Some off hand options include: photographing what the subjects are thinking about, perhaps a flash that 'reduces tension' which in humans means turning off inhibitions for a short time, a setting for seeing through clothing, a setting for generating a temporary space time bubble for isolation, and if there's another 'moroboshi luck' moment to bring up, a setting that will shift the cameraman out of phase with reality for stealthier photographs. And of course, there's no need to introduce everything at once, because it's specified as a very full featured camera, and Lum probably just handed it to Ataru without reading the manual assuming "It should be obvious, he'll have no trouble figuring it out."
