What does it mean to be a superhero? The classic meaning of the word 'hero' was more tied to the idea of being a demi-god. The child of God and mortal, destined for great things... but many of them were not truly good people. Strength and power didn’t inherently mean righteousness. In the modern era, however, we use the term to mean 'those who perform feats of bravery in the name of something righteous', and thus, we have transformed the phrase considerably from its original meaning.
What, then, is a superhero? Someone with abilities or determination above and beyond that of a normal person. There's an irony here: The way we treat superheroes now is the same way that the Greeks used to treat their Gods.
And gods did not always serve justice.
Sailor Uranus watched as the woman in the shining red cape stood victorious over the fallen youma, her pose straight out of a comic book cover. There was no hesitation in her stance, no flicker of doubt in her eyes. She believed in what she was doing The youma twitched weakly at her feet, still alive—though barely. Superhero lifted a gloved hand, golden energy crackling at her fingertips. “Don’t worry, citizens! I’ll take care of this menace!”
Uranus stepped forward. “Hold it.”
Superhero paused, mid-motion. She turned toward them with bright, open curiosity. “Oh! You’re heroes too! I should have guessed—those outfits are perfect!” She beamed. “But don’t worry, I’ve got this under control.”
Neptune folded her arms, voice smooth but cool. “We don’t kill enemies without understanding what they are.”
Superhero blinked, then let out a laugh. “Oh, I see! You’re the ‘redemption’ type of heroes! That’s great! But this—” she gestured to the still-twitching youma “—is a creature of chaos. It has no place in a just world.”
Uranus narrowed her eyes. “And who decides that?”
Superhero tilted her head. “Why, Order does! Chaos only brings suffering. We stand against it so the world can thrive!”
She said it with conviction, with certainty. There was no arrogance in her voice, only faith. And that was what made her dangerous. Neptune’s gaze met Uranus’s, understanding passing between them in an instant. This was no ordinary enemy.
This woman thought she was a hero. Which meant she would never question whether she was wrong.
She had a really nice butt, though. That much the two of them were sure of.
Superhero clasped her hands together, looking between them with the kind of excitement usually reserved for comic book crossovers. “This is perfect! I was hoping to find warriors like you! The forces of Chaos are spreading faster than ever—I need your help to stop them!”
Uranus raised a brow. “That so?”
Neptune’s smile was polite, but her eyes remained unreadable. “You didn’t even know who we were a minute ago, and now you want us on your team?”
Superhero nodded enthusiastically. “Of course! Heroes must stand together against evil!” She planted her fists on her hips, voice brimming with conviction. “There’s a terrible force at work—one that twists emotions, clouds judgment, corrupts the innocent! It calls itself Libra.”
Something flickered in Neptune’s expression—brief, unreadable. For a moment there, when she heard that name, she'd imagined a door with the Neptune symbol emblazoned upon it. A being knocking at the door, asking to be let inside. The walls were made of crystals which were already glowing a pink hue, and what was more...
Her gaze flickered to Uranus standing next to her, and she grew flush. Ooh, all of a sudden she wanted to get this over with quickly so that they could properly relax.
Superhero pressed on, oblivious. “I’ve been tracking its influence for weeks. It’s spreading across the world at an alarming rate! If we don’t act soon, the damage could be irreversible!” She leaned in, voice lowering as if she were sharing a great secret. “And I know you’ve felt it, too.”
Uranus crossed her arms. “You sure about that?”
Superhero’s eyes gleamed. “Positive!” She stepped closer, her presence almost overwhelming in its sheer intensity. “Libra’s power warps people. It makes them give in to their desires without care for the consequences! Even the strongest wills are at risk—it starts subtly, barely noticeable, until suddenly, you’re not yourself anymore.”
Neptune chuckled softly. “Sounds terrifying.”
Superhero’s expression was grave. “It is.”
Uranus glanced at Neptune. For a second, there was a flicker of something—a warmth in the way Neptune’s hair caught the streetlights, a sudden awareness of the way she stood just a little too close to her... She felt flush. Was it warm in here? No, she shook it off, tried to focus on what they were actually doing here. There'd be time for them to fool around later... maybe tonight they'd stay in their sailor forms when they did it?
Superhero’s voice cut through the moment. “Libra is getting stronger. If we don’t act now, no one will be safe!”
There was something off about this conversation, but Uranus couldn’t quite put her finger on it. Maybe it was the way Superhero was so utterly convinced of herself. Maybe it was the way she spoke of Libra’s influence as though it were some creeping sickness.
Or maybe it was the way her skin still tingled from where Neptune’s fingers had barely grazed her own.
Neptune hummed thoughtfully. “You’re quite insistent that we join you.”
Superhero grinned. “Of course! This is what heroes do!”
Uranus exhaled sharply. “Alright. Suppose we hear you out. What’s your plan?”
Superhero beamed. “I knew you were true champions of justice!”
Neptune’s lips curved slightly. “Something like that.”
She didn’t miss the way Uranus’s gaze lingered on her, just a fraction longer than usual. Nor did she miss the way her nipples were poking through her leotard. Perhaps there was something to this Libra...?
====
Alright, so far as Libra could tell, things were going pretty well out there. The Sailors had gathered their friends and family, granted them all special powers to keep them safe. Things were going amazingly out there! They were currently planning their next steps, but frankly?
Libra was thinking ahead of that. What next...? If they were going to take on the forces of Order, they needed to be at their very best. Now, since Libra had gotten a lot stronger due to all the horny people because of its influence...
Why not spread that around a bit? Generally speaking it's not a good idea to put all your eggs in one basket. The Inners were the 'core' doors that were available, but heck, the Starlights were around as well, so...
What about the Outers?
Now, up until this point the Outers had been a no go area. They were strong, and way less friendly than the Inners. A touch more paranoid, more willing to shoot first and ask questions later, but the way Libra was feeling now? Could take 'em in a fight, if it came to that. Not that it should. After all, it wasn't as if Libra was trying to do anything too nasty to them now, right? No, just preparing them. Giving them assistance. Making sure that the forces of Order didn't do anything nasty, like brainwashing them - which apparently they were more than happy to do, based on what happened with poor Rei.
It was actually, kinda easier than expected to open up Uranus and Neptune's doors. Had expected some kinda resistance here. Hah, it was almost as though they'd been touched by Libra already, and were welcoming in a new friend for a drink! Although, Libra couldn't remember doing anything much with them... yet. Hrm. Probably nothing to worry about.
Having said that, upon entering Uranus' room, it had a door off to the side, which Libra checked and found... Access directly into Neptune's room. Huh! How about that!
"No time like the present then," Libra muttered to itself. Cracking knuckles, looking around, rolling on heels. "Time to get to work. Let's pervify this place in the name of the greater good!"
Truly, the most noble of actions taken for the most righteous of reasons.
